Hey everyone! I'm interested to see what games you like to play competitively on PC! It would be awesome if everyone could contribute! If I left a game out that you would like me to add, pm me! Thanks.

there once was a game called myth II, still available online game that used to have a thriving online competitive scene. The micro in that game was some of the most intense and hardcore community. Back in its glory days you had retirement matches that a player challenged 1v1 and if the player lost out of 5 rounds he/she would be shunned and kicked from the majority of hosted multiplayer games.

The record for the world cup tourney stands since 1998-2013 and had whole japanese, Polish, Brazilian not just english spekaing countries play agaist each other. It was not divided by region, there was actual international team mingling with reps to translate on each side for timezoned matches and team requests properly.

I dont think I will ever find a game like myth II soulblighter again it had everything you wanted from an rts, balance, flanks, tactics and a heap of different styles of multiplay objectives.

wow I found 2014 match, you can watch but most wont actually appreciate the skill involved unless you actually are playing hands on.

Sounds pretty cool, and I'll have to check it out! Do you think it's community is big enough for my website to hold ladders and tournaments for it?

it used to, last tournament I was in was 2013 and there were 10 teams of 10 players in each. If you really wanted to help with this years myth world cup it would be the perfect opportunity. The hardcore veteran players are around just not playing myth online. When i say veteran your taking 12 years experience and most are with families these days lol. Usually vets also often will show now mercy to new players, though that has changed a lot in the past few years due to dwindling players.

http://www.mwc2014.net/ I found the website, you should read the rules the format of the tournament wont change, also you can check out the teams ect.

Finnaly the gate of storms website is a database and server provider that is community run. Bungie servers went down 2001 and ever since the community has been running it. That pretty much means street rules, street cred and no admins booting you for swearing or voicing your opinion on absolutely anything (which is a good thing i.m.o).

http://gateofstorms.net/

If your serious about doing something like this, then I suggest talking to the users Asmodian, Giant Killer General or Paris as they are the most active participants in setting up tournaments. Regardless the single player is just as fun, and plugins/mods are available freely that creates whole new games within the engine.

My favourite is one little game called Blacklight Retribution. Its a free2play FPS multiplayer game that is NOT pay to win. Its lots of fun. It had also released for PS4 but it has mostly gone under the radar. If you haven't played it, please do as i love some of the maps, the great variety of guns and customizable guns and weapons, the HRV system. The HRV system is what mostly makes this different than most other online fps games. It brings a lot of strategy to the match and discourages camping. I feel its a great game that deserved more success. It has a few bugs and issues but its certainly worth the price of free.

Well in all honestly, I work for a small company, that's growing, and I'm in the PC department, and am looking for games that can stand on it's feet if we put ladders and tournaments! In your honest opinion do you think Myth would last?

I'd like to ask you the same question, do you think this game has a big enough community to last on it's on if I through out ladders and tournaments for this game?

I have never played any games competitively in the sense that there was a prize or some tournament structure, but I have played a lot of Counter-Strike against people in a competitive sense. I voted for CS:GO because I'm sure if I were still into that sort of play, I would be on CS:GO but CS 1.6 was much better at competitive play than Counter-Strike: Source was.

Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm is what I'm enjoying currently.
Now with that being said, Hearthstone I can see working, if I added a ladder for it, but HOTS idk, because their community isn't as big as LoL or Dota 2, so I doubt it would ever work.

I've only played the newest version of CS:GO XD, and I'm not bad at it, but I know the competitive seen is amazing, and I think it would be stable if I put a couple tournaments and ladders for it. Would you agree?

I'm a filthy Dota 2 player. I try to avoid the flames though, since nothing really comes out of it.

The game itself is weird now. Some scenarios I'm perfectly happy with as of now, but other times I just want to quit. What an interesting time to play.

Well, I think LoL took a lot of Dota's community away. I think that's where league got their base from.

None of the above. The only PC game I really play competitively these days is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. If that HD remake of MW2 ever happens (doubtful, but hey why not?) that'll probably be what I switch to. I played Advanced Warfare during that free weekend a couple weeks ago on Steam and just couldn't get into it. Didn't like BO2 or Ghosts either, honestly.

Understandable, in my opinion, I think COD is meant for console, and the community on PC for COD is very limited.

League of Legends all the way, every day.

I won't claim it to be better than Dota 2 because it really depends on your tastes. I will say however, it is entirely free to play and gives you a very wide selection of heroes to play for free. Each week rotates heroes so you are never stuck with the same characters, but the more you play- the more IP points you earn which helps unlock any character forever. I admit, the alternative skins for said heroes are quite expensive but the game is free to play and skins are totally optional so it's not a huge deal.

The community is ... alright. Some good, some bad, most horrible. But then again a lot of communities in games like Dota 2, COD, Dark Souls 2, Battlefield, TF2, and more all share the same problem to be honest. It's funny how rare it is to see a friendly face on LoL as people told me, hence how despite only being level 13 at the time- obtained the yellow ribbon from Riot known as the Great Leader Honor ribbon. But in truth, it was just for being a really nice person towards my allies and rivals. Still shows how rare it is, and I find that kind of sad in the end.

Love LoL's gameplay and character models. Do give it a try, totally free and when you sign up- Riot doesn't send you bullcrap e-mail nor spam your inbox for any reason.
If you need help with anything, do ask for I would love to assist you :). My Avatar is based off the LoL character Elise with the Blood Moon skin.
I play LoL, this poll is for my own personal use! I work for a website, and am grabbing statistics to see where the community stands on these games! I think all these games have a community of some sort, and would most likely be stable if I made tournaments and ladders for them.

That's awesome actually!! I'd love to be part of a LoL event, let alone something in terms of a tournament.

It used to be DotA 2. But now, after uninstalling it to concentrate on tasks I had, then installing it again, playing 5 games and uninstalling it again, it is not anymore. Feeling of victory is hugely overshadowed by feeling of loss not becuase you suck, but because some asshole on your team got butthurt after dying once and disconnected.

Well that's how LoL is as well, but I think if you played it on an actual website, and you aren't in a game with douches (excuse my language) , but it's still competitive, I think you'd enjoy Dota or LoL more! Correct me if I'm wrong!
