Alot of us can agree that some pokemon games are fun..true the story may as well be nonexistent and the new ones can be considered shit by some but still..

I try not to think of them as better or worse than each other; only every other game ever.
But I have to admit the game has become better ten fold since EV training.

I don't like posting the same thing twice.

Gold was the best. 251 was a decent amount. It had 2 regions and trading with the original 3 games. Not too many, not too few, and only one well 2 if you cant glitch that required a nintendo event.

They are only improving over time. Unfortunately they are not being innovative and trying new things, but none the less they have almost perfected the original game with their new versions.

Older ones were the best, Red, Blue, Gold and Silver, really i prefered the Pokemon series when it had less actual Pokemon,
and none of the bullshit ones which are either cheap knock offs of every other pokemon, or evolutions which were to make up for lack of originality.

I like the story of Gold/Silver/Crystal. It was by far the most well developed. Also, I like the starters that you got the best. Typhlosion FTW.

None matter to be beyond the original 151.

I liked Gold/Silver, though.

I love the game engine they have in Diamond/Pearl, but I think I hate every pokemon in generation 4 except for like 5 of them, and all the evolutions are just disgusting (MAGNAZONE, MAGMORTAR, I'M LOOKING AT YOU)

Crystal.

There is no equal to its awesomeness. I still wonder where Ash Red finally learned the art of Shut-the-fuck-up, though.

Yellow, because after that I outgrew pokemon. It was a good game at the time though, I probably would be bored with it now.

What they messed up with in Diamond/Pearl is simple.

1) Too large a Pokedex. Collecting all 450+ from every past game is mind-bogglingly immense, and I don't see a lot of people actually pulling it off.

2) Too many past pokemon. With all the new pokemon available, why bother catching Geodude or Zubat yet AGAIN, even if they are reliable? For each new Pokemon game, they shouldn't use anything from a game older than two games old (i.e. in Diamon/Pearl, don't use anything from Red/Blue).

Some genius moments in Gold/Silver/Crystal are looking unfortunately overlooked, like the traveling to Kanto region. I loved that part, and if you could do it all over again (or even better, CHOOSE which region you want to start in), then it would be amazing.

And finally, expand on available starters. For instance, I love Beldum, and would LOVE to go through a game with him as my Starter type. The experience would be a lot more personal. (Obviously, this plan would require a lot of Red Tape, but it could be feasible).

To sum up, if they could make the entire Pokemon experience a lot more Personal, it would be very impressive.

I liked the originals Red/Blue/Yellow were they didn't start running out of ideas for pokemon and names.

Probably Gold/Silver or maybe Diamond/Pearl for the online capabilities. In my opinion though, I think that they're all pretty much the same game when you get down to it.

Diamond, because its the game I spent the most hours on, over 600 hours.
I didn't spend that much on Oblivion and I got 100% completion. I've always wanted to at least try the new ones, but with all the money I've been pouring into my desktop lately I haven't been able to afford a DS or the requisite software. Sapphire was as far as I got; I played it on my brother's GBA.

Poke'mon blue was the only one I bothered finisihing completely.
Gold/silver/yellow were decent too, and I played each of them a bit, but I couldn't get into the newer ones, it was too much of the same (I'm one of those "dawn of war 2 is an improvement" types).

i had a level 100 feraligatr in my gold version

this is no joke

it was because i didn't know what to do after i beat all 8 gyms, so i wandered around the region and by the time i realized i had to sail across that patch of water near your house, my feraligatr was already level 70 sumthing

weep with me though, the last time i popped in my gold version, i found that my save battery had died and taken the files with it(and over 200 hours of my childhood)

what a terrible design nintendo...
it makes me sad just thinking about it

They seriously need to make a remake of Gold/Silver for the next Nintendo Handheld. It would be so badass beyond belief.

Your all silly, we all know that Pokemon Pinball was the BEST!
Indeed it was quite fun. Though I always preferred the Blue table to the Red one (I did have Blue version....)

Anyway, I'd go with Red/Blue - except that Fire Red/Leaf Green are essentially Red/Blue with graphical upgrades, running, much better inventory management, and held items; all of which are excellent things to add to the Red/Blue experience. So I go with FR/LG (though I will state that 'Leaf Green' is a fairly silly name).
