Poll: Favourite Pokemon Game

The original Gold and Silvers.
Although i consider HGSS to be better games now, at the time the excitement and joy that came from the original pair was much greater.
Although Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald was the probably the pinnacle of the series being the most complete in terms of graphics/content/pokemon amount before diamond and pearl ruined it but received a slight boost with the good remakes of HGSS.
In total i calculated that i have probably lost about 1,000-1,500 hours on the pokemon games.

On another note i wonder if Ruby and Sapphire will receive remakes in 2013.

My favorite still is Silver version, although I like a lot what they did to the mechanics of the game in Diamond/Pearl. I don't care much about the pokemon animations pre-battle and during battle, but I LOVED that I could make them hold items to make them stronger and better in battle! That's why Silver wins for me. Unfortunately, I cloned so many pokemons that my cartridge doesn't save anymore. I was so sad when I found out... I had a lvl 88 Lugia and bunch of other pokemons. However, I love the Physical/Special split on Diamond/Pearl. Improved the game and brought so many possibilities. I just wish they'd stop making new beasts and improved the existing ones. There are so many pokemon that doesn't evolve and are such crap! Like Pachirisu and Dunsparce (as far as I know, these two still doesn't evolve).

I like the first two continents, Kanto and johto, for a while it was the red/blue gold/siver games

so when leaf green/fire red and heart gold.... games came out they are a new favorites.

Well I've only had Yellow and Gold, so I'm a bit biased, but I'm gonna have to go with Gold/Silver/Crystal. In Gold there were two areas, Johto and Kanto (Damn! I can't believe I remembered them, just don't ask me to tell you which is which), and you had most of the first generation Pokemon plus the new ones. Although since I haven't played some of the more recent ones I don't know if I'd like them more.

As for starts in Yellow I started out with Pikachu (big surprise huh?) and in Gold first I started out with Totodile, but since my memory was erased I've restarted and chose Cyndaquil. The Pewter City Gym was a ***** to get through on Yellow, but it was there that I caught my Nidoran male that eventually evolved into my badass Nidoking. Plus Cerulean Gym was always a breeze with Pikachu.

I'm gonna have to pearl. No, wait. HG/SS. They got the second chance with the 3D and they had the option to have cyndaquil as your starter.

I'm going ot have to pick fire red/leaf green but say any with the original 151 pokemon. You know, the ones that ARE AWESOME! I can't follow all the new ones, but I still have a carpet with everysingle 151 pokeon on it and when they evolve. I actually just finished playing some fire red, started with bulbasaur
