*I haven't been here that long, so I don't know if it's not a good idea to create a thread to ask a question. Mods have mercy!*

I have played Final Fantasy 8 to completion twice, and I really want to play it again, for the story if nothing else (ya, I liked the story, don't hate). I can't get the thought out of my head of hours of Triple Triad in order to get decent magic early on in the game, and to get items for the Lionheart gunblade. I spent so long doing that last time, I really don't want to do it again.

I'm asking anybody who has played this game, do you think I should play Final Fantasy 8 again?

I prefer FFIII, but hell, why not? I'm playing through Pikmin again to get all the Ship parts, so you may as well waste your time too!

consider this poll might not work; because its likely to attract people who are interested in the game, and repel people who dont like the game- so im going to guess youll get a skewed result in favour.

All ill say is that there arent many good games out atm; so youve certainly got the time, that you wont have in 6 months!

That's true on both counts. I was curious why all five votes were for "yes", and there is certainly alot of free time right now that I won't have later, so I guess I'll go for it.

Its better than Nine, but not as good as Seven. But any real FF player has already finished 7 at least twice, or finds it overrated. 10 was my favorite. I didn't really like 8, so I recommend replaying 10.

FF8 was an interesting experiment. Play it again if you want to be reminded why it didn't work out, but leave it in your memories if you didn't love it the first time through.

[edit] Didn't vote because the poll too polar. (if that's the right word)

I think that you answered your own question, you say that you really want to play it again, despite how there is some grinding to be dealt with, (LionHeart GunBlade). If you want to play it again, then for your own conscience, please do so.

Well it is a rather peculier Final Fantasy. You can summon but it only pays off in the beginning (disk 1). You can use magic, but there are only a few spells that are really useful (Aura & Meltdown in particular) and considering the junction system it's primary function is providing stat boosts anyway. IMO it really comes down to Limit Breaks (especially Squall's Renzokuken), that's how you'll kill most of the bosses.

I consider FF8 the worst of the PSX FF's but that doesn't mean it's a bad game. Man I wish Square Enix would revive Vagrant Story...so much potential.

Go for it. Talking about it is making me kinda want to play it again, I loved it as well but I've only finished it once.
