So firefox 4 came out today (In britain anyway). Just wondering what everyone else though of it. Personally i don't think its too great, I'm still unsure if it's basically the same or a little bit worse. The only real noticeable difference is the tab bar now goes on top and the menus are all under one button.

I understand that many people don't use/care about firefox but for those who used the last browser what do you think of the "update"?

I've been using the Firefox beta version for ages, but I'm not the most advanced web-browser user so for me its pretty much the same, some minor changes which I find handy but thats it. :)

My 4 Beta is nothing like you describe.

Downloading 4 to see what you mean...

EDIT: To my knowledge, The tabs (Mine at least) have always been on top, and I have multiple menu buttons.

The only thing I dislike is the lose of my page loading bar.

I always had my tab bar underneath the navigation bar, i can chance it back but then the only change to my browser would be that all the buttons are in one menu. You can add the page loading bar by right clicking the top and choosing "add-on bar"
Just noticed after watching a few videos and typing this that it appears slower but that could be my crappy internet and laptop, seemed find before though.

I will give it a try tonight, I have been using Chrome as my main browser for the longest time now.

There is much more to browsers than the UI.
I don't really go far into the details of internet browsers and neither do most people I know. I know thats a pretty silly way to look at it but I choose the one that works best for me. Firefox always had the upperhand because it looks the best and was the fastest.
I was also going off the points made in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mv_sq5zpN0M&feature=player_embedded (forgot how to embed) and the points on the site.

I'm not saying Firefox is bad at all, I've been using Firefox 4 for a fair while now, and it does seem much nicer. :)

Not perfect but I much prefer it over 3.6.

I really like 3 and i really can't be bothered to change right now, especally with my sexy beatles theme.
The theme, bookmarks, favourite tabs, etc all stay the same. If I were you I'd still wait till 4.1

Only just upgraded, so I haven't really formed an opinion of it yet. But going from first glance I like the new layout, ny bookmarks and open tabs don't take up as musch room and everything is a lot clearer looking. Also I seemed to have to noticed a slight increase in the loading websites which is always a plus.

I'll probably love this version of firefox as much as the old version once I get all my add-ons back up and running :)

I like the menu customisation where you can drag and drop everything including search bars for the ribbon. Now that the URL bar works as the chrome searchbar/URL combo and I can remove the extra search bar it's really nice to use. Not sure I'll stick with it but it's getting a chance to prove itself right now.

It seems cleaner, faster, and more stable for me. My only problem is that not all of my add-ons have updates for it, so I'm out on a few I use until they get updated. Also, the updated version of my tab favicon-er doesn't always close the tab when it's faviconed. So long as I remember to return it to regular first I'm golden. I could probably try a different one, but I'm lazy...

Eek gad why did you had to mention it? (I wasn't aware of .4 update until I read this post.) It gonna take me ages to adjust to this new version now!

Ooh, installed mine.. it's a very different layout! :O
Not sure if I like the minimalistic chrome-esque style, prefer having all my buttons at the top, seems to run a bit faster though. :)
