Nemo was also the first Nightwish song I heard, although this was back when I (for some reason) listened to music on TV channels like Kerrang and Scuzz. Something I don't recommend unless you are happy to wade through the detritus of mismatched playlists featuring ancient music videos and general modern crap. Maybe things have improved since then?Merkavar said:For me i was using one of those radio station programs like spotify or pandora, forget the name and it played Nemo by nightwish and i have been listening to them ever since, seen them live once too.
I remember a few of the songs that got me interested in certain bands, find them below in list form:
Metallica - Watching 'Nothing Else Matters' on TV AAAAAGES ago. Still one of my favourite tracks and my long time fave band.
The Sword - Playing 'Freya' on Guitar Hero 2. A game that was destined to change my musical tastes on more than one occasion.
Dethklok - As with The Sword, playing 'Thunderhorse' on GH2. I had heard of Metalocalypse before but dismissed it as a crappy TV show aimed at metal fans. But after playing/hearing Thunderhorse I was tempted to actually watch the show and it was an instant hit. Three albums and four seasons later and I still think they're a great band, despite not really being real.
Faith No More - "Midlife Crisis" on the GTA: Vice City soundtrack. I'm not as big a fan of them as I was, but I still love the song. And the game for that matter.
Masterplan - The One Piece AMV featuring the song 'Sail On'. Fantastic song and my favourite Anime combined, guaranteed triumph. Although I only have their first album, so I probably don't count as a fan.
I've no idea how I came to like the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Iron Maiden. They always seem to have been there in my music collection.
