So i had an interesting discussion of little consequence with a friend of mine. He thought that having the ability to teleport would be far superior to being able to fly. He based on the practical nature of teleporting, that you could go anywhere in not time at all just by thinking of it. Also that if you really wanted to you could just teleport around the sky and it would be practically the same thing as flying. For me it would be the feeling of flying and the ability to just fly around and explore. Either one would be awesome but I'd rather be able to fly.

What do you guys think?

I would choose the ability to teleport, because if you forget something you can teleport back to where it is and get it.

Also wasn't there a thread about this yesterday?

Both are hazardous. Flying barefaced through the sky will lead to critical injury if you collide with anything, not to mention all the grit and ice in the air.

Teleporting on the other hand presents other dangers. There's the inherent one of teleporting into a chuck of matter and effectively destroying yourself, or the threat of consistently incremental inertia.

Or the other implication. On the theory that teleportation requires the deconstruction and reconstruction of separate matter at the target area, you technically die every time you teleport. You instantly get killed and replaced by a person exactly like you.

I'll take teleporting. The practical applications of teleportation are too numerous to count. Sure flying would be fun, but I can think of a hell of a lot of fun things I could do with teleportation.

I would teleport, because I would never have to move my legs, it would be awesome. And I would become the ultimate fighter. Just epic.

Fly. Just seems better for traveling (which is what I'd rather do).

Besides, I don't have anywhere I need to get to....

Definitely teleporting. I've always wanted to have that power, or the same sort of powers Wolverine has.

Teleport, because you can free fall then teleport away befor you splat :D
I don't think teleporting would stop your motion or else you would die from the earth's motion if you ever teleported.

You haven't played Portal, have you?

OT: I'd much rather be able to fly (especially if I could go hypersonic or something). I've always been more interested in the journey than the destination.

My mom and I actualy had this debate this morning, I wanted Flight, she wanted teleportation. With teleportation you can take your time and get there when you have to.
With Flying you can enjoy the sights and, IMO, make FAR more dynamic entries.

It didn't get settled.

But what if you have to carry something? That would be pretty inconvenient with flight. Plus at higher altitudes you'd freeze.

BTW, say good bye to five hours.

Well I figured, since I'm flying, I must have found a way to combat other elements.
