Same with me. Saving 400 for a hd right now since my SD is dieing on my. If it wasint, i would of waited at lest five more years

jeesh how big of a tv do you want? i just got my 1080 lcd hd 37" sony for 310 bucks, for 400 your getting a 42-46" depending on where you go for it, if your making a jump from SD to HD, i'd hold back on getting one of the big monster screens above 40"

Seriously now, HD? What are you guys still slumming around with that wishy washy rubbish for?
Admittedly, Xbox 360s look rubbish on it, the screen does a valiant job of scaling the image, but it can't hide how ropey 720p starts to look at high res.

Heh. You think a 360 looks like crap on there, I have a monitor from that same line that's a couple years older and a couple sizes down. You should see what a Wii looks like on a 2408WFP at 1920x1200, or even worse an N64. It's hideous. The scaler in it is almost tolerable, but the real problem is that the deinterlacing is atrocious, so it ends up looking even worse than on an old CRT in some cases. It's great.

At the same time, it's kind of awesome that it has so many different inputs that I can hook up any random console I pull off the shelf with minimal effort and don't need a separate TV around anymore. I even think it only takes a single adapter to hook the VIC-20 up, which is pretty special on a screen almost three decades newer than it.

I always save more money for a brand I trust. I will not by one bigger that 32". I could get a Emerson for about $298 but I only trust Sony,Samson, RCA, with few others brands for tv's. Also, If I can get a warranty for it I will. The leftover money wont be spent but, saved. I only expect to spent $320 but I like to have extra money just in case.

I am also saving 1500 for a new desktop, expect everything to be 1300. Any money after will be spent for more ram, memory, or even more software.

My TV changes on its own. I don't understand how it does it, but it does. It detects the optimal resolution for the movie/game. I assume that this has to be a pretty standard thing nowadays, though, as the TV is a year old and wasn't expensive (and it's only...27 inches?).

27" SD TV here. I paid money for it, and it still works, I see no reason to replace it. I don't get that much use out of it aside from the occasional movie or show on Netflix that I'm interested in. And since my 360 shit itself I mostly just use my computer for games and ignore the TV.

still looking into that but, I want it to play starcraft 2 on ultra. My dad is going to help me build it.

1080p, that's the highest my TV goes up to. Then again, most games I own for the PS3 don't support 1080p, and when Xbox games support 1080p, it's usually an upscaled 640p or higher. (See also: Halo 3)

42" 1080p TV hooked up to the Xbox 360 and PS3. Got nothing on my comp monitor, but for some reason the image quality was nerfed when I tried to hook them both up to the monitor But it still looks good enough, plus is large enough for splitscreen.

I have a small flat screen tv that's HD compatible but unfortunately, I can't tell the difference between SD and HD. But if I had to take a guess, it would be around 720p.
