I've got some power metal, power/thrash, prog, prog death, and prog black. Oh, and some folk.

Seriously, guys, go try out Agalloch. Right now. Also, +1 to EvilPicnic for Van Canto. That's hilariously awesome sounding.

Not quite sure what these subgenres are called, but this shit kicks ass:

I was going to post that song! Damn you, sir.
Anyway: Doom, Stoner, Sludge.
Electric Wizard, Sleep and loads and loads of (early) Black Sabbath makes my day brighter (or darker, depending on how you see it.)

I used to be really into black and death metal, but now it's mostly doom metal in the vein of My Dying Bride or early Paradise Lost. Or drone, like Sunn O))) and Khanate.

Any Metal from the Age of Metal, 70's-early 80's. The rest is all just so much sludge on the Engine of Destruction. Better than other sludge, but still sludge.

Thrash metal, groove metal and progressive metal. Can't decide between these three. Love bands like Metallica, Lamb of God, Pantera, Dream Theater, Tool, etc.

A couple of faves, actually.

Classic Heavy Metal. Some people call this NWOBHW, or whatever, but to me, anything that sounds like Sabbath or Priest and came out during the 70s counts.

Melodic Death is also very close to my heart. My favorite band right after Judas Priest is Synestesia, they play Finnish melodic death metal. A little googling will net you two free albums off of their website.

Metalcore is a genre that I sometimes love and sometimes don't. Not as steady a favorite as MeloDeath or Classic. I can hate a whole album, and love a few songs, or I can build altars to entire discographies.

I know it's just a sub-genre of melodic death, but viking metal is also pretty cool. Not to mention... Pirate Metal. Alestorm! \m/
