Haha, Yes, absolutely.
Today I wrote my first PM (here), wanting to let someone know that he won today's internet, and not in the sarcastic way. Boy, that was difficult.

Nope. Never suffered from that.

I will strut through these forums just not giving a fuck till the banhammer hits me.
Which will happen in one infraction, it seems.
Yep, for the next 4 months or so anyway. Looking forward to it?
Waddayamean 4 months?
Won't you be permabanned?

Or do you mean 4 months until you start receiving amnesty?
4 months till it drops again.

I was actually 1 month away from having it drop completely at one point, but then I got suspended for "trolling" a pony thread.
Since it's you, I'm going to go ahead and assume you deserved it.
Are you looking for an argument or something?

You dont like me, I get it. Theres no need to spam me with subtle hints, its not going to change anything.
...
I never use emoticons. I don't feel it goes with my character or the way I write. I just don't like them.
This normally isn't a problem, since the people I talk to use lots of emoticons.

However, you seem to be of the same philosophy as me. This makes things difficult.

tl;dr I can't tell if you're joking around along with me or if you're being serious.

To amend the situation: Here's a picture of a pair of antropomorphic buttcheeks with a ballsack hanging down between them.

Nope.

I was born not giving a fuck what others think I am. The whole town could think I was a gay prostitute with a pineapple fetish and I still wouldn't have any fucks to give.

I'm just that care free.

If I am referring to something personal, then yeah I sometimes feel kind of anxious and a little afraid of the reaction I suppose. But on the other hand I feel more open to express how I feel due to the anonymity, sooooo... Yes, but it is temporary and only a mild discomfort.

Does anyone else ever feel this way when browsing the Escapist, or indeed any other forums you may frequent?
Look at my Joined date. Now look at my Posts number.

What the hell do you think?

I guess so. That would explain why I was lurking on these forums for four years before I finally saw a thread I felt I could contribute to.

Naw if you don't like what I say go fuck yourself. You're opinion does not matter to me, unless you agree with me. :3

Is it bad that I read your post in Marvin's voice? It felt quite fitting. :x

Although I'm going to go with yes, there are other reasons why you may not have posted. c:

Yeah, I'll start a thread feeling really good, then about three or four hours later when I turn on my computer I'll think "Oh, no." It can be fun to stir the pot and drum up conversation and viewpoints, but sometimes I just want the topic to die and I regret having ever said anything.

Joking around, as always.

Still dont know if you are having a serious go at me though :p the "since its you" comment implied it.
Deadpan delivery is my thing. [sub]Well, except for when I'm making intentionally outrageous puns.[/sub]
Just sucks that I'm crap at detecting it when others do it.

Indeed I do.
I've lost count the times that I've written a paragraph or so then just deleting it all and not posting on the thread.

He doesn't like you. I don't like you either. You just watch yourself. Were wanted men, I have the death sentence in 12 systems!
Hah!
Your healthbar is in the same meagre state.
Perhaps I should pull out my special gold plated carbon fibre poking stick and get at you a new infraction?

I tend to be a somewhat sarcastic person in real life but not so much online because of the potential of people interpreting the text as literal just because I didn't convey my thought properly. This tends to limit what say on these forums.

Yeah, it kind of comes down to "what will people think of this if I click post now..." then giving up and closing the tab.

This is a clear "yes" for me. I have Asperger's Syndrome, so I struggle socially anyway, and I always worry, in any sort of social medium, that I'll miscommunicate and/or make a fool of myself.
Basically that, I'm always paranoid that I might have across as an asshole and sometimes just delete what I've written half-way in, or just regret what I did end up posting.

And it's not like anyone remembers anything you post in the long run.
Hey, aren't you the girl who has that thing where you see colours when you hear sounds? Is it photosynesthesia?

On topic. Nah, never had it really. I mean when I first came to this thread I was like "well, where to begin!?" and then after my first post there were about 4,000 more ...

I often get my post misinterpreted by people, it's a problem I have in real life aswell. I could mean something totally innocent like "hi, nice to meet you" and the other person hears "you fucking ****!" ... I don't know how it happens, it just does.

My grammar and spelling are horse shit, 90% of the stuff I am meant to know I was never taught and learning that level stuff makes me feel insanely stupid! I mean I know how to solve a 12 sided "rubix cube" but I have no clue where to put ";" ....

So other than hoping that nobody pulls me up about grammar and spelling or takes my post the wrong way so I get mod wrath, I am fine to post whatever.

For maybe the first week in a new forum I'll be apprehensive, but then it goes away. Creepy out-of-the-blue PMs, however, they're absolutely terrifying and always will be to me.

Aye, I estimate that only 1/3 of the posts I actually type gets posted. Often I give up because I don't feel like arguing(social phobia irl, so it probably doesn't help much) or since I lose intrest.

Lets see if I dare post this!

Good to know I'm not alone in doing so. That alone helps me feel more confident. :)

Yep. Usually I just post anyway. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? People on the internet not liking what I have to say? I've had worse.

Still get a bit anxious though. I've always been like that though. Not too sure why.
