Okay here's the thing, I like in game music, (see Extra Credits a few weeks ago) but sometimes I think my music is better.

So tell me what do you think, do you have Windows Media Player running in the background for whatever game you are playing, do you stick to the in-game music of whatever game you are playing, or do you have preference to what music is played for a specific genre or even a specific game.

Also in this post I want to run one of those add to the list as its goes thingies, each new reply should add to the list their own favourate (or more than one, lets say no more than three) music tracks from the mainstream media (mainstream being that you can buy the album at HMV). The aim is to build a frag-tunes uber playlist regardless of music genre or genre of game it is meant to be played with. Ill start it of with a few as they appear in the order of my media list then we'll see what happens.

ACDC - Thunderstruck
Audioslave - Cochise
Bullet For My Valentine - The Last Fight
Bullet For My Valentine - Scream Aim Fire
Bullet For My Valentine - Waking The Demon
Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench
KillSwitch Engage - Save Me
Linkin Park - One Step Closer
Metallica - I Disappear
Metallica - St. Anger
Shinedown - Devour
Shinedown - Sound Of Madness
Shinedown - Cry For Help
SOiL - Halo

I do sometimes play with my own music, and I generally think it is better (mostly because i can play it louder), but it sort of takes away from the game as well, so I don't do it too often.

the in-game music. People put a lot of time and effort into getting the music right and it usually works out better. I do like playing Wipeout HD playing B52's Rock Lobster for the Lulz, but generally it's in-game music for me. Trouble is that if you play your own music it can drown out the SFX and when the pace changes the music can seem very out of place.
