How much of your gaming budget do you spend on online content in games?

That excludes the initial one time purchase of the game.
That includes every paid and premium extra and subscriptions in online and social games.

---

Subscription based gaming seems to be dying out because publishers are not able to maintain a big enough player base. Instead freemium games are becoming more popular. These games can be played for free, but a lot of the (extra) content has to be paid for.

If the paid content is optional (faster leveling, cosmetic items, etc), I am fine with this business model. But if the game is just a fancy demo where you have to buy the extra content, that kinda sucks.

What do you think about paying for online content? And how much have you spent?

When it comes to paying for things I only really go for map packs/expansions, usually if I can manage to do something in game without spending on it I'm more than happy to do it because I actually enjoy playing the game. If I can't be bothered to work for it, it usually means the game isn't worth it.

I don't now, nor have I ever, played any subscription or freemium game past a free trial period.

I do on occasion buy some dlc packs. Not often though. I'd say absolutely under 5% and closer to 1% of my gaming budget.

Every once in a blue moon I lose all sanity and actually buys something in a game with real money. Usually in that period of time between playing the game for the first time and looking at guides and other tips because I need to master the game. And then I either lose interest or realise I don't like the game that much...
