So yeah, I got bored today not having to work and decided to write down every single game I've played and beaten in the 27.6 years I've been alive. As of right now, I've played, and beaten, 284 unique games, ranging from Mega Man 5 for the NES, to Super Mario RPG for the SNES, to Final Fantasy VIII on the PS1, and so on. Every game has also been bought in some way (Birthday Present, Holiday Present, etc.. still apply), so that's that.

With that said, I have also found out that the two games I bought today takes me to a staggering 300 unique games.

First things first, doing the math, that's ~10-11 games a year played. Is that a lot, especially considering the first few years I've been alive probably wasn't playing games? I turn 28 in August.

Second, here's the list of games I own and have not played yet:

PS2:
- Ape Escape 3
- Dawn of Mana*
- Gun
- Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning
- Max Payne
- Max Payne 2
- Okage: Shadow King*
- Shadow of the Colossus

Nintendo DS:
- Chrono Trigger
- Final Fantasy: Ring of Fates
- Kirby Mass Attack
- Kirby Super Star Ultra
- Megaman ZX Advent
- Professor Layton & Curious Village
- Professor Layton & Diabolical Box
- Super Princess Peach

*: Games bought today

Game #285, which I'm currently playing, is Megaman Network Transmission for the Gamecube.

Of the games above, which would you deem worthy of being Game #300?

I'd say Shadow of the Colossus. I played the game back when I was twelve and never got to the second Colossus and just killed the first one over and over. I still had a blast. Should probably go back and play it again sometime.

But the story is good, world is good, and gameplay is fun.

Chrono Trigger should have been in the first 10 let alone 300 >_>

But seriously. Chrono Trigger, great RPG, one of the first to have multiple endings, great playtime, varied environments and all around a good time.

The only game I've played out of all the games you listed is Kirby Super Star Ultra, but if you've ever played the original it's an excellent remake, that has the original content, plus a lot more. Not only that, but it's actually challenging in some areas. Yep, a Kirby game, challenging. I'm sure Chrono Trigger and Shadow of the Colossus will be the only answers, though.

Ape Escape 3, do it now! 0_0
In all seriously if you like the Ape Escape series then Ape Escape 3 is a great game. It has Soichi Terada doing the soundtrack again, the levels can be fun, and the minigames (especially Meseal Gear Solid) are great. It's a really fun game.

I'm gonna go the other way and say Gun, the best western themed game ever made.

Also out of curiosity, what's the console breakdown on these?

I vote Shadow of the Colossus. You should really play that if you want #300 to be special. It'll make you want to play 300 more.

I'd go with Shadow of the Colossus. It's one of the all time greats on the PS2, and it'll make you hate all the boss fights in nearly every game made since.

Shadow of the Colossus. Without a doubt the best game there. But for the love of god do not look up how to beat the Colossi. The experience is not nearly as fulfilling as when you learn how to beat the colossi.

The Legend of Spyro games are great so I recommend getting around to those when you can. The last one is fucking awesome.

And all those DS games are fantastic except maybe Super Princess Peach.

Considering you're only a year older than me, I wouldn't say 300 is such an extreme number. Hell, I have 170 just in my steam library and lord only knows how many games from before that.

As for which game to play as #300...Chrono Trigger is pretty good.
