Music games: I already play an instrument for Marching Band, why would I want to take a break from walking in circles for an hour by hitting colored buttons?
You could play Audiosurf, unless your PC doesn't work for much more thannormal internet browsing of course... it actually takes a quite a bit to play so I can't play it on my laptop.

Sports games, racing games, JRPGs, most (not all) RTS's, fighting games...

Basically the games I do like to play are platformers, fun FPS's and puzzle games.

Which makes Banjo Tooie my all time favorite game for containing elements of all three (plus so much more) and turning it into a complete and brilliant game.

Hooray for N64 era Rare, You princes of men. Possibly princesses too, but lets face it, gaming and the games industry is mostly a sausage fest.
Banjo Tooie was awesome! I was so happy when I found out that it would come for Xbox live Arcade (one of the reasons I wanted an Xbox).

I don't play sports games. Unless you count Mario Tennis and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games of course. Those were awesome, Mario Tennis more awesome though. I don't spend much time playing RPG, but I do enjoy the good ones, same with RTS, FPS, racing games and simulators. I think I can come up with an example of a game I like in almost every genre, especially those that were listed in this poll, but I have my preferences in platformers, action, RPG (the JRPG kind) and adventure games. It all comes down to if the game is good or not.

I'm not a fan of FPS's or sports games. Nothing really against them, they're just not my thing. I prefer RPG's, RTS's and Action-Adventures. Platformers and Point-and-Click Adventures are pretty cool as well.

No sports games for me, which IM(not so)HO, includes racing games. I just find the whole genre boring. Then again, I'm not a big fan of watching real sports, playing the games aren't that much better.

I don't play:
- RTS (i prefer TBS)
- Racing Games
- Sport Games
- Simulation Games
- Music Games
- and Most RPG's (with forgettable stories and such)

but if i've become accustomed to a series, i'll play it regardless (Fire Emblem ^_^)
i know this seems a bit... close-minded, but i HATE these Genres with a passion!

i know RPG's i tend to keep-away from, cos i've never really got into them and the ones i do get-into, i get overwhelmed.

hope that answers your question...

I really, really, really hate RPG's. I get bored with them because they take for freaking ever! I had to force myself to beat Fable 3. I will not ever play Final Fantasy again. I also can't beat Fallout 3. I'm not bad at them. They're just so boring!

there's a lot of hate for the sports games out there. i play madden and tiger woods regularly. i usually play them when i'm bored my other action/adventure games, but they also both go well with beer and cigarettes and not having to pay too much attention.

FPS mostly. I play a bit of everything else but some, like fighting or sports, I despise playing alone though with friends they are a lot more fun.

Racing, and other sports games (if racing is a sport in the real world, why treat games of it differently).

Also, beyond games like Bioshock and Borderlands i don't see enough difference between shooters to bother playing them. I have tried the single player campaigns of CoD 2 and Modern Warfare, to check the genre out. I enjoyed the single player campaigns (still don't see a reason to buy more), but have no interest in competitive online (Hmm, mbe that should be a category too).

Finally, as there are only three equally successful and boring ways to play fighting games (Mash buttons randomly, use same cheap move, spend a lifetime mastering a single character), i really don't see the point of playing them. Music games can be fun, bu i wouldn't buy one myself (mooch off other people).

Racing games: driving around in a circle for hours in order to unlock more cars to drive around in more circles...... it makes the Sims look exciting

Its no surprise that sport games are a waste of time for the average gamer. They're just plain stupid.

I'm no good at music games. No freedom to press the buttons you want.

I am prone to enjoy the odd racing game or too, and Tiger Woods PGA multiplayer is one of the funniest drunken experiences you can play, especially on One Ball Mode (don't ask.)

Well, I voted RPGs, as I don't have the time or effort to put into them, but come to think of it, I've (almost) never played a sports game! :O

Racing games put me to sleep apart from Mario Kart and Kirby's Air Ride
I don't get why people would rather play sports games than actual sport
Music games, why not play an actual instrument?

I voted Sports games, but I also don't play FPS games. Not only do I generally suck at them, but I like seeing my character on the screen. I like to see the character model and its animations and all that good stuff. I feel like in a lot of cases, FPS games are made because the developers are too lazy to animate the main character.

Of course, there are exceptions to the rule. I so love to play Fallout 3 in first person. And New Vegas.

Hard to fit my dislikes into a simple poll like that. I prefer not to play JRPGs, music games, RTSs, sports "games" and especially shooters.
