Poll: Game idea: RTS/FPS would it work?

In my opinion halo wars 2 (an upcoming release) should have the ability to switch into first person with any of the units on the battlefield, and as you do this the RTS element goes into autopilot, letting you almost choose whether you want to continue running the battle from a birds veiw or try to solo the battle with a spartan or hunters that you've summoned. do u reckon a game like this would work?

I've yet to see anyone do that right and I doubt that Halo can make the strategy deep enough to pull RTS players but it will still feel strange for most regular Halo players because you're supposed to do things other then shoot grunts in the face-mask.

Battlezone did this quite well. You played it as an arcade tank simulator, but you built your base and managed resources at the same time.

No reason it can't be done today.
