I'm interested in what kind of a game people would make if they were a developer. Tell me about the premise, gameplay mechanics, even what it would be rated!

Just edit the first post (I think), and you can change the poll options.

I would have a stealth RPG.

A space RTS in Homeworld style. Lots of fighters, lots of explosions, enormous lumbering capital ships, lasers flashing all over the place, railcannons busting frigates to shreds, 3D space control and tactics and maybe throw in some superweapons for kicks. It would be awesome.

KotOR 3.
Not an MMO, but KotOR 3.
Which is everything from KotOR 1 and 2 together. So, I suppose a space RPG of sheer awesomeness.

I'd make a turn-based strategy game. A strategy-RPG to be more precise. I've actually had this idea for a very long time, and I've got the basic stuff all written down already. In short it's best described as a scaled-down fantasy Total War game with a focus on squad tactics and in-depth RPG-style unit leveling. It would have a story mode that takes the player through a series of short-ish (like 20-40 minutes on average, to 60-80 minutes for the hard parts) challenge scenarios and a sandbox mode that would simply place you on a huge randomly generated world map to conquer any way you want.

It's a hugely ambitious idea though, and not one I expect to ever finish (or even start). So far the only 'real' games I ever made were a cellphone game inspired by Destroy All Humans and something that's basically a game of weaponized bumper-cars. Both were very simple, and both made me realize that I don't want to program games for a living, so a big project like my dream game will always remain just a dream.

RPG with multiple optional elements (I.E. Stealth is a possible choice, but not forced)
Open World with a fair amount of Fauna and the occasional NPC
Plenty of Random events with mulitple randomized factors so one could experience the same Scripted event twice and never no that they did it before
Most Dungeons (Caves, building, Etc.) have a tale to tell
Possibly seasons tied to both Locations and the in-game Date

Oh, and Drivable Furniture

I've had a few, but I know they'd never go anywhere.

Recently a game based upon the idea of being born a telekinetic in the current world. Gameplay would be primarily quick time (like Heavy rain) and secondarily 6-axis. The first "level" is you as a young child using the 6-axis controls to move targets (children's bricks) around.

Then we move to the first real level at school and it ends with you getting into a fight, with someone at the bright old age of 10. The fight ends with you either unleashing a devastating telekinetic attack crippling the boy and alerting the authorities to your gift or by you stopping and getting hit, hard. This choice determines your upbringing, in a military institute or normal.

The game presents limited choices and finishes differently depending on actions and choices, with the hardest ending meaning you get through the game never being caught using your powers, that play through although very difficult would lack any real action and ultimately be rather boring. During that same origin you could reveal your powers at a random event, triggering the military to come after you and either escape or submit. Then the military origin, where you either play through their tests and drills and become a weapon of mass destruction or by breaking out and trying to keep keep yourself hidden with them hunting you.

Controls here would be a *****, I mean really hard. I was also thinking that all the skills are unlocked at the start of the game although they are never told to you. By pressing buttons when locked on a target you "accidentally" learn how to use different parts of your git, when you use them a certain number of times they become unlocked and available to upgrade in a Oblivion fashion.

I'll edit in a bit, gota run!

An open world fantasy RPG that would end up getting low ratings for being "inaccessible" and "confusing as fuck".
Hell yeah \^_^/

I'd would try to merge RTS and RPG elements. Good story with character and troops development.

Platformers, it's a dying art. Banjo-Kazooie, Jak and Daxter, etc. The Ubisoft "Parkour" games while fun, are a poor substitute.
I'd love to do a large-scale, collect-a-thon platformer with a Steampunk feel. Call me boring, but Steampunk is just too awesome. Imagine for instance 10 different Steampunk worlds, in each you collect a number of pressurized valves to open huge Gates to let you into each world. You collect bullets, tesla coils, and various "specialty" ammo like nets and ball-bearings. You collect fuel for your "Hover Boots" which jet hot steam with enough force to propel you forward.

The worlds should probably be spread across classic cities, an antarctic super base, a giant luxury ship liner, and the internal workings of the final boss: A giant mechanical statue of Zeus, the Greek God.

Then there's the level boss fights, which I believe should consist of giant robots. Think the giant spider from Wild Wild West (if you're one of the 3 people who saw that wreck of a movie) only more elaborate, and preferably more creative. A giant steampunk praying mantis, or a snake that travels around on train tracks.

Your villain has to be a historical one, it always works best in these scenarios. I recommend a young Thomas Edison. He's a thief and liar, and perhaps after stealing movie technology from one of the Luminare brothers he moves on to stealing the advanced technology of your main character.

Your main character, I believe, should be a customizable character, a bit like Shepard in ME. ________ Talois, professional steampunk tech-using, Assassin / Thief / Vigilante.

That's my game. I love it. Now... if I only I had any artistic or technical talent.

an affectionate pardoy of old school JRPGs where a Hobo, a guy in a wheelchair,a prostitute, and Neil Gaiman team up to reinstate pluto as a planet. Very silly with a deep turn based combat system.

I would make a platformer about someone who is insane. There would be twist-stories, invisible monsters who cannot be seen - not in the least because the protagonist is blind - and fragments of the destroyed world. Wether he is insane or not and weird stuff is just happening to him (and potentially everyone else) should be the big question. Which shouldn't be answered.

An open world realistic fantasy first person game. You'd actually have to open your backpack to put things in and out, and no carrying a couch in it because you have enough "weight points", you gotta make it fit. You can switch between a normal and advanced combat mode, where the controls would be switch around majorly, allowing you incredible control of your sword/dagger/bow/etc, and allowing you to think of your own moves to perform on enemies. Oh, and multiplayer. I'm tired of being solo, sometimes I want a friend around to go around and be awesome with; and perhaps the player would be able to change in option in which they could encounter other random players in the same area of the world? Camaraderie or shenanigans may result, but it would definitely be entertaining.

Horror all the way. It would be a first-person perspective. The most common ideas for a game have just generally been survival zombie games, although other monsters have sprung to mind.
