2009 sees the early release of a few risque fanservice games. These games are focused on blatant fanservice, and when I say blatant fanservice I mean they are unashamedly content to use sex appeal to sell games.

Honourable mentions of 2009 would be X Blades and Onechanbara: Samurai Bikini Squad. They are set to be this years Soul Calibur 4's and I wouldn't be surprised if they released some maid outfit DLC later on.

So now we know what we're talking about, when you're buying these games do you stroll on in, slap down your money on the counter and proclaim how you want to buy the newest version of foxy boxers 2? or do you walk in and covertly slip it on the counter in your trenchcoat and hat?
Basically are you embarrassed at all?

I don't feel "game shame" when I buy games really.

Where's the option for: I don't buy shameful games intended for sexual fanservice. 'DOA: X-treme Boob Wrestling' never appealed to me.

Nope. It's easier for me when the guys at my local EB's (2 of em near me) are rather familiar with me. I don;t buy games like that grant you, but if I did I wouldn't feel any sort of shame buying it. When it comes to purchasing anything, games, clothes, food, whatever, I am an in and out person so everything flies by and I can get on with my life.

As King Edward said "Shame be to him who thinks evil of it".

Hey, I wasn't the one that said evil. Unappealing however?

I'm just saying, an option should go up to those that don't do this sort of thing.

I'm not getting either. They just don't interest me. Although I do have a related story. Once I was staying over with some relatives and we stopped by a mall. I wanted to buy DOA Extreme BEach Volley Ball but was too embaressed/afraid of being judged for buying it. So mu relative bought it for me as an early birthday present. The funny thing is that the clerk gave him that look while ringing it up ^_^

Same here.
What they said.

Although if the Wii version of Onechanbara turns out to be any good, I might try to check this out, but only through Gamefly. Saves me a lot of awkward glances.

You say you don't, but I'm willing to bet plenty of the older gamers here went out and bought Tomb Raider when it first came out.

Even though i'd probably spend my money on something more meaningfull i'd go with max's idea, slam the money dressed in a trenchcoat.

I'd probably order it from internet to just to be sure i'd get it.

If I actually intended to buy a game like that, I'd go with the trench coat option. Especially if I get to wear sunglasses and get to fly around like superman.

You're missing Velvet Assassin, Bayonetta and Wet (yeah, there really is a game called wet. But for the love of god, don't search Wet game. Don't make the same mistake I did)

Don't play the games, and think bad things at the people who do.
The funny thing about WET is that they've animated so that the main character is even more sexualized. Her upper and lower halves are animated separately, this allows for her to perform all kinds of crazy looking acrobatics but it also conveniently makes it so her ass swings overtly back and forth as she walks.

This is a little off topic but has anyone played Onechanbara yet? I was thinking about getting it cause girls in bikinis cutting zombies to pieces sounds like the embodiment of pure, unabashed awesomeness in its pure, tacky and tasteless form, but I'd hate to be let down and find out I dropped 40 bucks for nothing of the sort.

tl;dr How's Onechanbara on the Wii?

I only play games with legitimate gameplay value. If I want to see boobs, I have my wife... who showers at least once a day. :D

If X Blades is any good, I'll probably check it out. The animated ass on the cover isn't a selling point.

...Yeah, I don't buy $60 games just because they have tits in them.
Blatant sexualization is something of a turn-off, but then, I never liked slutty chicks. (or dudes.)

So basically I agree with Purple Ninja Heart Boy up there: Where's the option for, "I have better things to spend my money on?"
EDIT: But if I were to theoretically buy shit like this, I'd go trenchcoat and hat.
Because trenchcoats are for pussies and flashiers greatcoats are badass.
Fixed what was blatantly wrong with that.
