Gamefly might not have the best business managers: they have been struggling to IPO since early last year and their infrastructure discourages most new customers within the trial month. While their array of new games is usually pretty solid (LA Noir is on its way to me), many are driven away when they see it can take over a week to get their next selection. As a customer I appreciate how much they have helped me cut down on buying new games (that I usually don?t like) so even though they?re expensive, they end up saving me money anyway.
I?ve made a point of filling out their survey at every chance because I feel they need added value like Netflix?s instant viewing. And it looks like they might be doing something like that. They just bought Direct 2 Drive.
How do you think they?re going to incorporate the D2D service into Gamefly? Do you think it will succeed in adding more value to their service? How so? I hope so because I keep considering dropping them every time I have to wait a week for my game. Still $20 a month is cheaper than $60 a month.

The idea that there could now be a digital rental service is really interesting.

Apart from that, I don't use/care that much about Gamefly or D2D. There's a rental store I go to to rent stuff, and I use Steam/Impulse/GoG for my digital stuff. So yeah.

That's alright. Nobody else seems to give a crap either. I guess not that many people use either service. Not that I can really blame them. I keep getting on and off the fence about dropping gamefly myself.
