Poll: Gamer = Anime.

i've noticed within my vast lifetime of 18 years, that when a person enjoys Video games there is a bigger change that they enjoy Anime as well and vice versa.

just wonder how much of the community here enjoys both?

JRPGs essentially is anime in game form. A lot of them make references to Anime... Even more anime makes reference to gaming.

Also, I find that categorising "Gamer" in such a way is incredibly restrictive. Games are massively varied these days, as are those who play them and enjoy them. From the wee'est of children to the most aged of adults, from every background and ethnicity you care to name, you'll likely find someone who plays video games and enjoys them.

We're quite a diverse bunch, once you get to know us.

I used to be like you, only liking games. Now I like both. I must convert you! Come...come...

EDIT: Oh yeah I forgot to say stuff. Yes, there is a greater chance someone who like one will like both.. I dunno, it's like nerd power or something.

Its really not in the story or anything like that.


Its how Anime's are Animated. I hate the look on almost all cartoons, and I suffer through adult cartoons just because they are so funny. Futurama for some reason is fine with me.

lol i hated it! it came so suddenly and just ended the story!! i was like NUUUU you could have done somethings better with the whole series!

I just wish they didn't add that in. They made it seem like Light had done everything right and would win, but I knew that they'd bullshit out of it and be like "Hey, look at this! He loses! Haha!" and they did. But it wasn't the whole episode, just the ending... 3 minutes or so

I like games but I don't like anime. I've given anime a lot of chances because my friends rave on about it so much and go "oh you MUST check this one out, it'll change your mind" but invariably it doesn't and it's just the same old same old. Miyazaki has a few good films, and there's one or two others that are tolerable, the rest is very badly animated, poorly plotted and more often than not creepily misogynist. Deliciously ironic that they call it "anime" at all when the animation quality is so universally terrible.

I agree that gamers seem to like anime a lot but I fail to see any actual reason for this as there's no legitimate connection between the two media forms that I can detect.
