you know those moments in games were your sure that something bad is going to happen, that's called intuition. in games like dead space were something is jumping out at you every 5 seconds it kind of ruins this feeling but in games like silent hill where you know that something is going to jump out at you prefects this. people who have played games can expect this from certain games, so do you have tiny little gift.

Games are so repetitive these days I believe I do simply from experience...

I'd call it common sense. Music turns on, save points and ammo caches appear, the inevitable communication cut out.

Yeah, I know what you mean. L4D and it's Hordes. Yes, they are quite obvious but I know about 5 seconds before hand when they're going to happen. And also in Skate 2, I know when I going to get splattered by a car.

How about Prince of Persia? Any experienced gamer can spot the path to take through spotting scratched walls and the like. If you see vines along a fence, you know you can climb it, and you know the giant mooks are always slow and have to be hit in the back or while they're attacking.

Same, especially when the "Horde Music" comes on and the little Horde Alert text appears on my screen.

Anything I was going to say was just about that. Since developers copy from each other in generalities, the situations basically end up the same for different games, so we do the same things.

Mock me if you want, but I know when they're going to come...normally. Other times I know as my mate shots the car which sets off the alarm. I know he's going to do that every time. Does that count?

I can burn through "average" games in like 6 days on the hardest difficulty.

I can just tell whats gonna happen.

Things get so repetitive in most games now that you can just predict most things. Especially with music. Once the music strikes up to a quick pace, you know that your about to start kicking arse and taking names.

There are other times when your wondering along and thinking:....probably going to die in the next few seconds.......yep there we go, Gordon Freeman is now a pavement pizza

Yeah, there are a few tell tale signs. Like with Resident Evil 4, there is alot of ammo and health outside a room, you know there'll be a boss. With Dead Space, things usually get quiet and you can predict it. Also, when theres vent around, you know they'll most likely be used.

The only game for me that was really sneaky would probably be FEAR. Even with that, you have an instinct when something bad will happen.
