Ah, achievements. The little box telling you you've done something worthy of recognition, a bragging right among your circle of friends, and a little shiny badge for your ego. For some, they're a lifestyle. For others, an annoyance. What do you think?

P.S: Tried the search bar, connection too slow.

Contrary to the belief of people who try (and fail) to get me to do achievement matches I don't actually have any issue with them and I do enjoy unlocking them although I don't make a point of getting every single one avalible AT ALL COSTS!

EDIT: some people automatically assume that the fact that I have a gamerscore of 22k means that I must be an achievement whore with no life and nothing better to do, I mostly got all of that by being pretty good at the games I play and by being very lucky.

I guess my gamerscore would be higher if I had more games/played more and had had my 360 longer. I don't actively hunt for achievements, I do actively hunt trophies because I want to get to the same level as my cousin.

I do achievements that are fun and/or interesting to try, or ones that present a challenge. I do not, however, do the ones that require bullshit like finding all the flags in Assassin's Creed or getting 10000 kills in ranked Gears matches. Honestly, I have better things to do.

I wouldn't say I hunt achievements, I won't try to get all I can. I'll have a look at them and see what sort of things they say, and maybe try some just cos they sound fun, but the rest of the ones I get simply come from playing the game. I don't bother with the ones that seem like too much effort and not enough fun, just for the sake of a number

While I know they're pretty pointless, I can't help but smile when I unlock one, that said I don't actively hunt them.

I love my achievements and there's not much like the warm feeling I get when the Achievement Unlocked message pops up!

That said, I won't bother going after ones that require too much of a Herculean effort or a huge time investment, like the aforementioned Gears of War "Seriously 2.0" achievement.

Getting the achievement for finishing Mirrors Edge without shooting anyone was worth it though, though it may have been easier if I hadn't chosen hard mode. :) So many retries...

I don't really try to get hundreds, but I seem to get games all the time that give them out like candy....from a free candy store

I joined the 20k club in less than 10 months I'm afraid
