There aren't enough poll options to cover every possible configuration so just choose the one that's closest.

What are the specs of your mouse, or the settings you use if its variable, for FPS gaming. I don't want to know about adjusting up down for sniping etc just what you use in a run n' gun scenario.

Well firstly the poll rate of you mouse i.e. how often it updates the position of the cursor in ... er that should be Hz not mhz :D i.e. how many times per second, secondly the resolution of the sensor i.e how many "dots" it tracks on your screen per inch movement of the mouse.

If you don't know just list your mouse and I can probably tell you, assuming its fixed.

1000hz, 1000dpi.

Throw it up to 2000dpi for some things though.

1000 reports/second

I use 1000dpi for everything, 200dpi for sniping and I have a 3000dpi setting for when the mouse sensitivity gets murdered because of being in a vehicle or something.

I know it's too much information but fuck it, I already typed it and I'm not going to delete it.

Thats interesting, I've used 1800dpi since.. I don't know when, maybe 2003 or 2005. Before that I had a microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 which was 450dpi.
I'm curious what people are using because apparently a lot of pros and other good players actually use mice with low dpi e.g. in the 450-800 range.

Back when I used the 450dpi mouse I would of been using a 1024*768 monitor, where as now i'm using a 1920*1200 monitor - roughly double, so i'd get a similar experience at about 900dpi. I've always felt that the 450 dpi mouse was better for counterstrike (at the lower screen res) so i'm just wondering if maybe my game would improve at a lower dpi than 1800.
Then again the IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 had a poll rate of 125hz and relatively 1000hz does seem to slow down the cursor quite a bit...

Not sure - where do I go to check?

Honestly, I've been a PC gamer for 11 years - I'm almost too embarrassed to ask...

Mines 1000 Hz at 4000 DPI.
Are you in a cinema?

Edit: Just tried it and it's not too bad, but I couldn't control a fast paced game like Quake at that setting.

I don't even mess with the mouse settings too much. Its usually on the default, whatever that is.

Edit: Yes, I don't play FPS games competitively but I think I'm good enough without messing with my mouse.

My mouse has three different settings: 1,800, 800, and 400 dpi

I use 800 for pretty much everything, 400 for sniping. 1800dpi is just a bit too sensitive for my liking

Razer Deathadder. I think there's a new one released, but I'm using an older one.
1800dpi, 1000 polling rate... although I checked and it was set at 500 for some reason... not sure why, I didn't put it there.

Well depending on the mouse it might have switches on it somewhere to set poll rate and dpi, or it might be fixed, or variable via driver. Best to just google your mouse if you're not sure.

There is a program here that you can use to test your current poll rte, its seems to work ok except at higher poll rates:

http://tscherwitschke.de/download.html

there is another program here where you can force the poll rate in software:

1500 DPI for most things on my x8. I think the polling is pretty high. I have a 16:9 1080 24" monitor. I like it, but I jump down to 800 and 250 for some things/games.

1000Hz, 1800 dpi, although I think I can turn it up to 3600dpi if I want.

Not sure why I would.

On a side note, that mouse (Razer Deathadder) is the best purchase I've made for a while. God its nice to use.
