Pretty much the same. I always play a good character and I always try to do what I believe is the right thing to do.

In real life I can be loud but I am kind and tend to let people walk all over me. In games I'm the do gooder who will help anyone in need and not ask for a reward.

So then I guess my video game personality is the same as my real life personality.

I am doubly compulsive ingame than IRL, though that gap is decreasing with each new and intresting day...

My friends of TF2 can vouch that, when ubered as a Pyro, I may follow the compulsion to taunt and watch my crackling energised body fire uber-hadukens rather than destroying the sentry nest

Hmm, I don't really vary that much from my real-life personality: I do good things and help people out, but I can be a little more mercenary than I would in a real situation. But I can't be evil...

In games i tend to exploit everything and anyone wich gives me quite a reputation. In real life i'm usually very friendly and try not to stand out.
I guess i act different in games as i would in real life.

I tend to feel more conflicted when facing choices in games. In person I know what's right. In games, there is a whole new realm of choices that just aren't usually viable...dark choices.

I usually play stealth, unless the mage has good playability. I never really play brute/fighter, not enough depth for me.

Lately I've been thinking about the way I perceive myself in real life compared to the way I portray myself in most RPG's. In the real world I'm more the stealthy type that relies on wits more than brawn
I lol'd
That makes 2 of us.

Can't really compare Rl and game personallity, unless you're talking how you act online (mic screaming, rage-quitting, team-killing, constantly hitting on female players (players not toons), beeing helpfull to new players etc.)

I'm myself IRl, and i'll play my character in whatever way fancies me that day. i can play anything from LW to CE in a game if you wanna talk DnD allignments.

on gta IV I'll always take the quickest and easiest option, there's a mission where you're supposed to fight through a bunch of fuck heads to get to the leader fuck head but I find I always seem to stand outside and snipe his face off, simple yet effective is a philosophy I live by

Stealthy and completely standoffish until you get to know me, then I'm quite fun and happy-go-lucky to be around, and still stealthy while I'm at it (both in real life and in games). However, I voted "Varies" as some games simply SUCK at making stealth characters. Where the controls suck, or maybe they don't even really provide any oppertunities to be steathly despite having a stealth class (Like most MMOs. I mean honestly while your being sneaky everyone else in your party has already killed everyone!) in those cases I play your standard hack and slash characer.

Now here's another interesting question. Do you play as the same or oppsite gender?

Really it all depend on what I am playing. If it is some sort of sandbox game i try to act like I would if I was in that situation. In RPGs and FPS I like to express my evil nature.

no matter what character type i play in oblivion, i always revert to the stealth type, which is how i'd do it in rl, if it ever came to that.
I like stealth in Oblivion because it makes everything a lot easier, and in other RPGs I generally go for the stealthy types since I like to go exploring, and when I do I find treasure locked up. Most locks and doors in games don't respond well to a bashing ergo - stealthy type.

IRL I get annoyed very quickly and most of the time throw caution to the wind whenever time comes to make a decision.

The only real comparison you can draw between the real life me and game me is that when it comes to using a bow, I'm terrible.

I'm much more outgoing in games than in real life, although that's a much more general online rule. I'm also less evil in games unless there is some benefit to it.

How does one get the chance to be stealthy in day to day life?
You have clearly never arrived at work 20 minutes late and had to sneak to your desk without the boss seeing you.
