When a game or a player is ticking you off, does your playing performance get better or worse? Or does even get affected at all?

For me I actually get better at the game most of the time. If I'm playing someone in Halo and I start getting ticked off, people start dying around me. Yeah, you can call bull on that but I swear it's true. Funnily enough though, in Ninja Gaiden Black or 2, when I get angry, I get massacred even more.

No, I get worse.

This is particularly noticeable with FPS's, like CoD:MW2. Some asshole who doesn't realise there's a gun attached to his grenade launcher will kill me several times in a row, and I'll start playing sloppier.

Depends on if I become a sort of calm angry so while I am deciding on how to destroy that player I simultaneously retain at least a little focus on keeping myself alive. Anger can be blinding, sometimes.

Pretty much this exactly. I get progressively worse and worse as I get angrier and angrier, especially if it's at a single person like that.

You wouldn't want to see me when mad. I start playing way better. I was just playing Team Fortress 2 and my team was not really acting like a team. I was a sniper and I was getting really ticked off at how much we were getting our asses kicked. Then I just started getting nothing but heashots.

Always get's worse, as anger increases rational thinking is out the window.

It does work in sports tho, because you can start pushing your body beyond it's standard limits, in games that means nothing you only need the brainz.

I only ever play well in games when calm, if I get angry I get impatient and charge at anything I can just to get revenge or to finish a certain level quickly. This often leads to me getting shot in the back by a camper I didn't check for or running into the same trap OVER and OVER just to prove I'm better than their trap.

I get worse the angrier I get. Sometimes, I'll stop playing something I'm stuck on, and have raged at, and sleep on it. I get past the challenge no problem the next day. A clear mind does wonders.

I think the trick here is to use your rage as a way to focus yourself. A lot of people seem to let their anger get the best of them and then the potentials gone but if it were used as a sort of focus fuel, I think that would be how you can best use it. From what I can tell, that's how I use it... most of the time. :\

Nevertheless, I also say that a good break from the game does complete wonders as well.

It depends on what i'm playing if it's an FPS then I generally play a bit better but if it's when I'm having a game of LoL then no I certainly don't.

Funny, TF2 is the game I play better when I'm angry. I am a pretty good RAGE!Pyro, but when I'm calm I'm kinda crappy at that class. My Medic skills suffer when I'm mad, but when I'm calm I'm fairly good.

My rage is more like a berserker-ish kind of rage, I don't rage when I get killed or crap, but when I start killing a lot I get serious tunnel vision, my reflexes get better in general, in MW I usually run around throwing knifes and killing everyone aiming like I'm hacking, but I lose most of my precaution (Which actually isn't THAT bad in CoD)
