I never considered my self addicted, until I lost the computer recently...

Sure I had school to amuse(read bore me shitless) me until four but then the next 6 and a half hours were boring as hell. The first day I thought "Ok it's just one or two days" now it's Friday and I just got it back and if I didn't get it back then quite literally whinging hell would break loose.

I've never gone very long without anything, call me lucky call me spoilt I just haven't and thus aren't used to it, a good example would be school camp for three days by the end of the third day I was ready to tear my face off if I didn't get hold of some technology.

Now I know my reputation as a WoW player is fairly known is these parts but if you are going to flame on that then know this: I still have to suffer proper computer withdrawal until my computer gets through customs and they are on strike which means it can take up to two more weeks.

So, I did whatever I could. I watched T.V, milked the GBA for all the time it was worth and generally found ways to keep me distracted. But no matter what I did my mind always drifted back to the Laptop and how I was saying "Oh I'm going to do this and that" But now I have it back it's gone back to the "meh" it's always been. So I guess I have a bad case of the "what I can't have's" but that's just me.

So any other stories or opinions?

(Currently attempting to beat the stupid parent block the guy who fixed it put on because I can't even see badges and avatars. and it was a OS corruption so I'm going to wipe that in my dad's face over the next few days and after I get the Admin password.)

Edit: About the title it says "site" in there because I missed you guys most of all./awwwww

Never, because I make an effort to have a life away from gaming and the internet (e.g. I'm active in my university filmmaking and drama groups...).

P.S. Quite liked the poll joke, keep it up :)

My computer was broken and 3 weeks and 8+ hours on the phone later it was fixed, Im not sure I would have survived the boredom without my dads computer which wasn't as good as mine and I could only go on for 2 days a week and my iPod touch which has internet connection. It made me realise how much I rely on the internet and games to stave away boredom.

I can detach from full on gaming 'addiction' pretty easily. I've gone off onto holidays for a good month without even touching a computer and it's been largely very pleasant.
I wish I could too. On holidays for me it starts with the phones, then the GBA and nowadays I always ask if I can bring the Wii and I know the answer is always no. That and I barely have any games for the bloody thing.

I'm not actually addicted to computer/video games. But I just can't stand watching TV since it's all full of crap. Reading? Nah. So I go out, but that only lasts for a while. I get home get on Yahoo! and start talking crap on it. But I'd have to admit, if I had no computer I'd be the most bored person in the world.

It is quite weird when you can't play, or even use the PC/console at all, but probably mainly because (especially PC's) they are so in-built into the modern lifestyle. I do spend a lot of time away from the console, either talking on MSN, surfing the net, going on here and meeting up with people, but when you have neither a console or a PC available, things to do on your own wear get boring very quickly it seems. Let's hope that my PC and Xbox never both die at the same time.

FPS withdrawl for five years...
RIP, Exbie.
Then Superfriend BFG pelted me with HL2 and HL2-1 on Steam.
Even though I don't like playing games on the PC as much, it was still such a wonderful catharsis.
And then I got a 360.

I've found that I can survive without a computer for a very long time. I spent about a month and a half in Brazil a few years back, and only used a computer once, to check my email. I barely noticed.

Again it's probably not a case of "what I can't haves" so much as "What I know I can have but do not currently posses" if I was in a situation like that I'd probably survive....hmmmm two and a half weeks before going bat-shit insane.

Well, there were a bunch of really cheap internet cafes around, and a few of them had Steam and some games. I just didn't feel any need to go to them.

Welcome to the master race.

You don't even want to know what we call it when we argue...

The Escapist, last ban, 2 weeks, I was generally upset. My three times my XBOX died, I had withdrawal while it was in repair.

My HD just simply broke down and my old HP wouldn't turn on several months ago... Of course it's around finals time and all of my notes were on my computer, so... I bought a mac within the next few days used from a guy on craigslist... Same thing happened... Oh I've suffered, and since then I've kept my hard drive in optimal shape...

Ouch, my ego was swelling nicely after I hit Gonzo, I realise I'm still pretty new here but I've gotten to know a few people
