Ah gardening, some people find it to be the most relaxing thing in the world, others find it to be frustrating and back-breaking. I personally quite enjoy it and find that there are few things more satisfying then eating a vegetable that you planted and nurtured until it was big enough to be devoured. Now a tend to keep it to myself because its considered girly or unmmanly but what do you you guys think? Does the Escapist like to garden? Do you think it should be consider not masculine to garden?

I can't AFFORD to garden this year. Everything would just drown in the Washinton rain anyway...

I do not. My asthma gets too bad if I spend any time trying to garden. :(

No. Never have. Besides, I currently do not have a garden.

My step-mom and nana do, my mom occasionally does, and my dad landscapes (kinda close enough) though.

There is nothing "un-masculine" about gardening. I help my dad in the garden every summer, and I enjoy it. I want my own garden one day, when I'm too old to have any other goals in life but a nice garden. There are a frightening lot of those people 'round where I live.

I watered some flowers today.

That is about the extent of my gardening, really not interested in it.

Dazz invited you to help him water his flowers! Accept the offer today and get a free cow!

I garden, I find it hard to find time for it though. My herbs and beets need weeding and they have done for a couple of weeks now.

When one of the tools you use for gardening is called a hoe, I don't think it can be considered un-masculine can it? ^^

I don't really think it should be considered in terms of masculine or not. It's not very gender specific or anything. I mean, what's the difference between and man and a woman taking care of anything they might grow, flowers, fruits, vegetables, trees, or otherwise?

We grow a ton of carrots, my eyes should by like night vision goggles by now.

I think its fun, we won a 300lb pumpkin in Seattle a while back and kept the seeds, so every year we get 20-50 pound pumpkins from our garden

I hate yard work of any kind. It's not about the labor, it's about being dirty. I hate dirt. Same reason I hate going to the beach.

But no, nothing emasculating about it unless you're a in a bad comedy where a man who is gardening is wearing a flowery sun hat and an apron that says, "I have a vagina and I blow men."

Trim the hedges and I'll throw in a grand stallion.

Seriously though you'd get much more than a poxy cow for watering my flowers.

Nope, don't like it. Anything involving grass or plants tends to cause itching all over and it's hard to breathe.
