So seeing as the pre-release event for MTG recently happened I was wondering what guilds where picked by my fellow Escapists.
It was my first pre-release even though I've been playing for a good long while. At the shop last weekend pretty much everybody went either Boros or Dimir, with Orzhov getting middle ground, and Simic and Gruul lagging behind in popularity. I found a strange bond with the Orzhov and Gruul seeing as numerically we were out numbered.
I choose the Simic Combine. I feel in love with the graft mechanic a year or two ago and when we went back to Ravnica I was elated. The art is great but I find how Graft and Evolve work very well together.
So, which guilds did you go for and why? Any particular play styles or strategies you've come up with for the new mechanics? Or maybe opinions on some of the cards?
