... that gave me the idea to start what may be my most fruitless attempt at anything: get the internet to back me to be able to audition for the film. (story about the casting here http://www.whatsplaying.com.au/2010/11/hollywood-insider-ghostbusters-3-auditions/ )

Yes, I know that I'm not the only person to ever dress up as a Ghostbuster (such as this guy: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=171394472872853&set=a.171183916227242.41107.100000069047061 and kind of this guy: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=171392562873044&set=a.171183916227242.41107.100000069047061 ), and no, I don't have any prior acting experience and therefor probably by default no acting talent. But hey, I don't think Nick Cage has any either, but he keeps getting work!
Also, I'm a bit of a Ghostbuster geekoid (having watched the film & played the 2009 game more times than I can count), a huge nerd overall, lived in New York my entire life, and I got the free time to do this!
Also, some people seem to believe that I'm funny so maybe that's a plus.

I don't mean to be rude, but this idea is worse than most internet petitions.

2. Wasn't Ben Stiller supposedly tapped for the new Ghostbuster Role? Most of the juicy roles would have to be gone since Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis have repeatedly said they'ed want everyone back to do this film.
