Sadly, the wounds that Atari inflicted upon me when they released their piece of shit crapfest which they call "Alone in the Dark" I have lost all possible hope there is for any horror-franchaise released by Atari, much less one based on a movie.

Ghostbusters is horror? Huh I've been out of the loop for longer than I thought. I'll be preordering it. Been waiting for it since last year. And Atari is only the publisher. If I didn't buy games from companies that disappointed me in the past I would not be a gamer.
They are releasing it for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC with the developer Terminal Reality, PS2 and Wii with Red Fly Studio and for DS with Zen Studios.zhoomout said:

I'm definatly getting it, I just don't know which system I'm getting it for. I think the game would be fun to play with the Wii-mote, but I think the graphical downgrade would piss me off.
im getting it on the sole basis that the almost the entire cast is in it. and that its being written by aykroyd and ramis they also have alot of say in it...its probably the closest to a sequel we'll ever get..
Pre-ordered back in November, can't wait for it to come out. You've got the same cast doing the voices and writing (minus Rick Moranis who was too busy apparently), and the game looks like a lot of fun.
Not to mention, YOU GET TO BUST FUCKIN' GHOSTS! If you grew up with these movies and cartoons,you probably played Ghostbusters and had the plastic packs and rolling ghost-trap as well. Nostalgia trumps common sense and general cynicism about movie-based games for me on this one.

I am also going to wait for the review before I decide to buy or not. I generally don't buy a game I could rent and beat in a weeks time, so hopefully this game has a bit of length.
Just because it is based on a movie doesn't mean it will be bad. It isn't like the Hulk or Iron Man that dropped the day the movies did. They have had 20 sum odd years to work on it. There isn't some 6 month deadline to figure out the script and develop the game.
