I play L4D a lot and that game has got the highest guy to girl ratio i have ever come across and tbh i always try and find a lobby with female gamers in not because I'm a sad and lonely person (well not just because of that....) but because i find they usually are a hell of a lot better at the game and work much better as a team, communicating more, helping others more and generally just being more friendly and chatty, happy to share tips and tricks and give you advice without being a arrogant prick.

I find it interesting to note as well that on that game the females are really vocal and want there gender and presence to be known where as in most other games they just play quietly like they don't really want to be noticed.

So to the OP out of the options if that's the only two things you can possible feel on the matter be proud i guess support her for breaking the stereotype and just incase you are scared stick to playing co op games like L4D, and now that you know shes good you can whore her out at gamecrush if your ever strapped for cash.....

I vote proud just because it's the option that's closest to "be happy that you've got something to do when you're feeling lazy besides sit on the sofa with her watching tv for hours". Playing to win games is fine but it's your girlfriend, it's not like there's any reason to be competitive you're just playing to have fun together unless I'm missing the point? If she's killing you so fast and easy you aren't having any fun you can always just ask her to go easy, it's not like you stop being a man if you have to accept your partner is better at something than you are :p

You should be shamed because having a TV and PS3 in the kitchen is a health risk.

proud that you found a girlfriend who is also an excellent gamer, scared/ashamed that you all play shooters on a console...and a playstation at that.

For some reason, I think this game has turned many a female into a gamer, my partner got an Xbox for L4D, and so did a few of her galpals. I think its awesome that she plays games, means after a day of fooling around we can just chill out in bed and shoot some zombies. It's like, the perfect relationship lol.

To answer OP's question, I think you should just be grateful you have a partner who won't look down on you for enjoying gaming, I've been out with a few gals in my time who thought the fact I played games was immature. Needless to say they didn't last long.

Pish tosh. There is nothing wrong with FPSs on consoles. As someone who plays them on both, I prefer them on consoles as to PCs because I get better accuracy with my controller than I do my mouse.

I absolutely, intensely REFUSE to believe that. It might be possible that you have a lot more hours clocked with fpses on console and it feels that way...but with similar practice a mouse will win no matter what.

I wish it was possible to play for example Q2/3 or something like that on pc versus consoles so we could get a "victor" once and for all :|

Ok, so i was staying at my girlfriends place the other day and i was watching her play modern warfare 2 (ps3) against her brother.

Funny thing is she played way better than me, so the question is:

Should i be scared or proud?
aroused

I agree with Rade on this one, I have played them on both PC and Console, and I find them better on Console, so much easier to aim accurately with a controller than a mouse.
And as for cross-platform, what about Shadowrun? I played that on console, did just as good as any of the PC players, and better than some.

I havent played Shadowrun so I cant say anything about that, but after 30 seconds of googling I found this:

"Criticism of Shadowrun has focused in part on the changes made in order to balance the PC and console versions in online play. FASA has implemented a feature which will distort the PC's aiming reticule during quick turns[4]. PC players, who have a more sensitive control scheme, are able to turn significantly faster than their controller brethren and would have gained an unfair advantage. The console players will also have a form of autoaim since controllers are not as capable of 'pixel-accuracy' adjustments."

I cant say if this is correct or not, but if you did as good as pcplayers with the help of autoaim...well that just proves my point :p Again I say I do not know of the gameplay "balancing" of this game, so take that for what it is.

PS: Hope I managed that quote right

Nope, no auto-aim when I played, so aiming at anyone was... rather difficult.
Had to aim properly, just like everyone else. If anything, aiming on that game was more difficult than any other FPS I have played.
Still, I've never enjoyed an FPS on PC as much as I have on a console. So I use a PC for RTS games, which I find them best for, and consoles for FPSs, which I find them best for.
Except for the added bonus of mods on PC... that is one thing that makes the PC better for games.
Unless you aren't interested in using mods, of course.
