Same shit in my country (Portugal).Baby Tea said:Uhh, what country do you live in that prohibits giving blood because you're gay? Sounds messed up to me. I've never heard of that...ever.errorfied said:I'm not allowed to give blood because I'm Gay.

Is there a word for that type?
I always said its better to give than recieve. So we should ask are you gay and "catch". Polygraph tests would sort all of those prudish hetrosexuals.The_root_of_all_evil said:Not really...you have to be the "catcher" to stand a high chance of infection. Your gf should definitely have that tick box though. However, you stand a lot better chance of getting the 'truth' out of homosexuals(who do it singularly) than heterosexuals(who don't).bjj hero said:Everyone should go to give blood. If I was in charge if youre not willing to give you wouldnt get. Take your chances and see what happens after a car wreck. Scared of needles is a cop out. Suck it up and go give blood.
It is discrimination not accepting blood from gay people.
Where is the tick box asking "Do you bum your girlfriend?"
Straight up discrimination.
tbh that is my philosophy lol. Except I'm over 17.george144 said:Yeah when I turn 17 I'm going to give blood, because I love needles, I love pain and I love blood. The fact I might be helping people is a bit of a downside but I can live with it.
Don't you think there would be a tiny problem with that? It's not just homosexuals though, tattooed people, epiletics, haemophiliacs(obviously), diabetics...anything that can cause toxins to increase in the blood. Discrimination is perfectly valid when it threatens lives.bjj hero said:I always said its better to give than recieve. So we should ask are you gay and "catch". Well hey. at least you had the curtosy to adress it as "anal" only. It would be worse if you asked the whole sentence =PEchetusXe said:I'd love to see that question being asked of middle aged builders and such.Daye.04 said:So the question shouldn't be if you're gay or not. 1. Have you injected any drugs in the last 12 months?
2. Have you had any contagious disease in the last 12 months?
3. anal?

And what's the NHC statistical justification for the fact a man that had sex once with another man, when they were both virgins, 30 years ago, can't give blood, but a woman who goes to random sex parties can, just so long as the most recent time was longer than 12 months ago?
My re-phrasing allows one to answer 'yes please' and for the nurse to laugh and mutter 'never heard that one before...'Daye.04 said:Well hey. at least you had the curtosy to adress it as "anal" only. AB+ is actually the universal receiver.Godofgame67 said:bad rider said:I don't know how the system is in the USA most likely different as you get paid for it, you lucky bastards.I live in the USA and I don't get paid shit.Duck Sandwich said:EDIT: My blood type is O rh Positive, which is compatible with a lot of other blood types. Boo yah!
O negative is the rare type that everybody can use. O Positive is the most common type and it's what I got. Only 3 others can use O Positive I think. Also, any one with type AB Negative can receive any other type of blood.
O Neg. = Universal Donor.
AB Neg. = Universal Receiver.
But if a girl is getting bummed out night after night she can still donate. If you are going to discriminate on health grounds base it on fact and logic.The_root_of_all_evil said:Don't you think there would be a tiny problem with that? Are we talking about anal again?Maze1125 said:AB+ is actually the universal receiver.
Probably that anal intercourse to a gender with weak groinal skin, within a high risk sexual grouping, that can suffer from haemophilia, is a higher risk than a mixed intercourse, bisexual that's less likely to tell, or even remember, the truth.Maze1125 said:And what's the NHC statistical justification for the fact a man that had sex once with another man, when they were both virgins, 30 years ago, can't give blood, but a woman who goes to random sex parties can, just so long as the most recent time was longer than 12 months ago?
Yes, indeed, I'm ultra banned for a different reason to all the above and I can see why, I'm a high risk group, a big organisation like the NHS or whatever has to play it safe (although arguably it could play it even safer), it doesn't bother me.The_root_of_all_evil said:It's not just homosexuals though, tattooed people, epiletics, haemophiliacs(obviously), diabetics...anything that can cause toxins to increase in the blood.
