I lost interest in multiplayer, purely because nearly everyone on the internet are extremely annoying. Also it's very tricky to win, it's not worth 10 games of frustration to get the momentary glory of a win.
This is probably the weakest anti-multiplayer argument that I hear frequently.

If you're not good, keep playing and get better! I'm subpar at TF2 but I still play it all the time and love it.
true but some people may never be good at the game because they're just not at that same level of competitiveness as alot of the other online players who are way too dedicated.

i have my gripes with all the asshats out there but once you've conguered them it can be fun pissing them off.

Not sure if this is a temporary feeling or I'm experiencing some sort of evolution, but last night I started to feel that I despise online multiplayer now and don't wish to play it.

Now I just recently blew $60 on MW 2, $20 on GTA IV, and $50 on whole YEAR of XBL to play online with friends, yet I haven't done that at all lately. Like I said in my other I have just been spending hours enjoying my playtime in Oblivion and occasionally playing The Orange Box. Hell last night I finally played some matches of MW 2. They were alright, but not that much fun, definitely not worth the $60 I wasted on MW2. Oh and some fucktards were being racist and saying "fuck mexicans", and yeah I didn't say anything back but they were basically being racist against me, the cunts.

Online multiplayer was the primary reason I bought the 360 and preferred it over the other platforms, but now I feel that I'm gonna give online multiplayer the middle finger and just enjoy time playing good single-player games like Oblivion.

And since everyone wouldn't stop saying it in my Oblivion thread I might just get a gaming rig later on if I stop playing online multiplayer altogether, but don't count on it.

What does everyone think? Is this just a temporary feeling because I haven't been having fun online lately or is it just me growing out of a gaming "phase"?
Try playing a different online game, because I can safely say in EVERY game of Modern warfare 2, there's some moron that is arrogant, up themselves, racist or just a wanker.
Every game I have played of MW2 there's always some plebian who has a go at me "oh you're level 11, you're a noob gtfo c*nt" to which i reply "Oh, you're level 70, hey it matches your Inteligence Quotient!"
Bottom line is Modern warfare 2 is just played by arseholes. I haven't met one person on there who isn't a dickhead. MW2 is not a game you make friends on, they're just morons (bare in mind I'm playing with Australians only, which says a lot about my country)... -.-

Whatever, just wash your hands.
thats why I like pc multi player, you dont have to pay extra and the ass hats tend to be few and far between, not to mention that mw2 probably isnt the best game for multiplayer if you dont like ass hats since you cant ban them or anything. At least easy and quickly.

For me, its all about a variety of experiences. If I play twitch heavy shooters a lot, I start craving a meatly RTS. A long stint in a RPG makes me want to play some fun, mindless action adventure. A polished but standard mainstream game will make me want to try out something indie. And a lot of multiplayer makes me want to play a single player game. And it's also vice versa for all of these example. If you are at all like me, do what I do: Play single player games to your hearts content. Don't worry about it. There's a pretty good chance your going to sit down for your single player game in a month or so, and find yourself craving some flag capturing and point taking. Then break out MW2. No shame in that.

Also, there IS a single player for MW2. Even amongst most (Not all) MW2 haters, they will usually tell you that the single player experience is great. They will usually say its way too short and doesn't justify buying the game, but they will usually concede a quality, say, 20 minutes of game play. The actual game is 6-7 hours, but they usually won't admit that. So Id say try the campaign, which is great, popcorn-y action movie style fun. Then go to your current staples. Then go to MW2 when you have a craving.

I'll say in your case (now this is just my suggestion) you should just give up on it for now but maybe try and give it another try later. I would also say stick to games that are less competitive online, such as L4D. Online is really fun, but for some people, it really isn't worth it. So whatever works for you man.
