Poll: Google Chrome App vs The Escapist

I recently downloaded the Google Chrome browser for my 3rd Gen iPad, and my first stop was The Escapist. Chrome had Flash built in and played several videos (Feed Dump, Zero Punctuation and Escape to the movies) well, and I was very excited.

However, today I tried it and it said I needed Flash 11. Of course, Chrome is just an app and I can't update Flash on it. However, of course, the Escapist offers its "Publisher Club" which allows viewing over iOS devices for a yearly fee.

My questions are:
Did the Escapist intentionally change it's Flash to make the Chrome iOS app not work in order to prevent viewing of iOS devices unless they purchase a Publisher Club membership?

If so, do you think it's kind of a cheap move, seeing as technology changed allowing viewing without any illegal actions?

Also, leave any "Apple hate" to yourself. This isn't the forum to debate if Apple should include Flash.

The integrated browser in my mobile is essentially Google Chrome. And let me tell you, while its tab to tab powers are great, the Escapist works absolutely terribly on it. Opera is better at it.

I'm pretty sure there is a secret war going on between Escapist and Google. >.>

Yes, of course, their decision to use Flash 11 was directly related to stopping people using it on a specific app. It's all a giant conspiracy, and you should definitely make a tinfoil hat.

2. No, I don't think there is a conspiricay... However, I am wondering if it was another less then stellar decision from the same minds that screwed up the Extra Credits situation

You underestimate the utter incompetence of Adobe Flash as a platform. Can't you view videos on here in HTML5 anyway?

Well, can't pub members view videos in HTML 5 anyhow (Not sure if they could on mobile)? My youtube account is set to HTML5 because Flash and Ubuntu don't get along well.

I doubt it's a conspiracy, just the Escapist keeping up with the 'standard' set by flash. Same reason I can't even test drive that streaming video game mahjig on Facebook, it requires a higher flash package that I'm not even able to upgrade to. It's pretty much useless.
