What's a Brangelina?......I'm googling this.......ooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhkaaaaaay, I get it now.
Yeah, no, I don't keep up with this stuff, unless it's all over the place and you can't miss it unless you live under a rock. Like the whole Tiger Woods thing.

As previous posters mentioned, celebrity gossip makes people feel better about their own lives. It's the old concept of schardenfreude at work.

Gossip is also extremely profitable for news agencies, as it doesn't take much effort to get the stories. It's cheaper, easier, and lower risk to send a paparazzi to Malibu to shadow a celebrity than to fly a journalist to the far corners of the earth and actually cover real news.

Maybe what irritates me the most is that most likely at least half of the stuff people are gossipping about is BS. Take Brad and Angelina for example, now i have now idea what the status quo on this case is but according to InTouch and however else those publications are called they have broken up at least 6 times in the last 8 months...

My point being, how can someone get so worked up about stories wich are more often than not lies, hearsay or pictures taken competely out of context.

People talk & people talk to people!

people are interested in people because they are people.

Is that so?
I get that, but why are people talking to people about other people none of them know anything about?
Because, all i really know for fact about Tiger for example is that he's decent at Golf.
