I've had mine for a while now and couldn't be without it! It does everything I need, except sexual acts. Unfortunately!!
They Don't:
-Have huge battery life
-Send MMS to phones that don't have an "i" in front of them.

They Do:
-Cost an arm and a leg.
-Cost twice that to get repaired.
-Have unreliable reception.

Honestly, you're probably better off getting a smart phone and an iPod Touch. It would cost you less and you wouldn't be robbed by Apple terribly.

Then again, since you bought one... How have you found it? Those points I made are from people I've talked to who have them and wish they hadn't gotten one.

Yes, because all the important technology is discussed from an Australian's point of view. Yep, you really nailed it.
That's right. I forgot, your opinion is the only one that matters! :O How silly of me to forget! There are some Australians who know what they're talking about Eggo. Myself being one of them. You really need to move on from your elitist POV.

I had a dream last night that culminated in Darth Vader throwing an iPhone into an inflatable paddling pool. True story.

I don't have an iphone becaues I don't like pointless gimicks.

I will agree with the reception commment, whenever my iPhone loses reception, which isn't really often - it takes a while to recover the connection. That however, could be blamed more on the provider and their coverage.
Cost wise, I don't think I'm paying a lot - about the same as my previous tarrif and a one off payment of £45, for the highest spec model.

One of the main reasons I bought one, is because I'm a subscriber to the .Mac service. I have a iMac and a MacBook. I sync all my data using the .Mac service. My primary e-mail is the .mac mail which is used across both machines and now the iPhone.
Basically, I like having all my data with me on the go. I'm very happy with my iPhone, it's not without it's faults - but I don't think there's a product on the market which doesn't have one problem or another.

I have an HTC touch Diamond, and I see no reason to downgrade to an iphone.

It's not that you might not know what you're talking about; it's just that how much Australians are paying isn't very relevant to discussions on the iPhone.
I was under the impression that the iphone was expensive and on a locked plan regardless of where in the world you are (although us Aussies usually do get a shit deal).

Congrats, you've bought something that does 5 different jobs...........it's a shame most people already have a pc, camera and MP3 player by now. So, people buying these either have none of the aforementioned products (then it's acceptable to an extent) OR they're dumb enough to spend 100s of pounds to have 5 devices all covering the same features, but they have the ability of showing how shallow fashionable they are instead with all their high street name gadgets......awesome.

And we wonder why no fucker has any money any more :\

I think the iPhone is pretty nifty-- but the exclusivity to AT&T is a real drag for me.
I've heard through the grapevine that the service is more than unreliable and I'll have none of that.
Plus it's pretty expensive ._.;
