Poll: Guitar Hero 5 Sucks

Now, I'm not a monochrome game viewer. I like to test every flavor of the rainbow before forming an opinion.

Guitar Hero 5 is by far the weakest title in he series. I only like a few songs in it (Feel Good Inc., 2 Minutes To Midnight, Blue Day, The Rock Show, You Give Love A Bad Name). Even Ring of Fire let me down. I usually enjoy playing songs so bad they're great (i.e. Don't Stop Believing In Rock Band), but I always end up playing two or three songs and sadly removing the disc from my 360 only to put in Guitar Hero Metallica. Is it me, or did the hammer-ons take a step backward? They feel so much stiffer than the World Tour games.

Now, there are some good features. The graphics look 100 times better than the World Tour games, and the characters look much less stiff. They're a bit blurry and might strain your eyes, but very appealing. The party play mode is nice, but the music studio is still too complicated for a kid like me to figure out. The Rockfest is also nice, but nothing special.

I enjoyed World Tour, loved Metallica and loved Smash Hits, but Guitar Hero 5 really let me down. The only reason I got it is because I get a free Guitar Hero Van Halen before it's released.

It sucks.. because you only like a few songs.

Well when they make Guitar Hero Yubadias, then maybe you'll be happy.. but even if I don't exactly love every song on there, GH5 is one of the best in the series and it added little extras to make it easier to play. So yeah, a good game all in all gameplay wise.

I just mean that there are so many great rock songs out there that they could have chosen from, but they're saving them for spin-off titles like Van Hale.

I really wish that they would bring out a whole Bon Jovi themed guitar hero.

I suppose that with song choices you win some or loose some because there is no accounting for taste.

My favourite was guitar hero 2. Nothing can top that. I think I liked most of the songs in this one.

Could you please give some examples of songs you did not like to balance out your opinion a little more?

Yeah, the only bit you'd want to do on that song is bass or vocals really.

I actually love the funk songs on there, not to mention Do you feel like we do, 2 minutes to midnight (even though the censoring is ridiculous) but I don't understand Feel good inc. Haven't played the career yet, but another good thing is that you don't have to unlock new songs.

EDIT: Sympathy for the devil, Jailbreak, Running Down a Dream, Scatterbrain, Judith, Woman from Tokyo are LAME? Do you feel like we do is LAME? Not to mention funk songs which are awesome in every form.
Clearly you just have no taste.

More like, mainstream songs like these sell games better. The Guitar Hero franchise has been dead to me since World Tour (I liked the songs, they were just not fun to play). I would suggest next time checking out the track list before buying.
