I think it looks really good. The open world aspect and the flashbacks seem like a really interesting concept. Firefight looks like a ton of fun as well. The only thing that disappoints me is the lack of elites as enemies and while the Halo 1 pistol is back it doesn't sound like the boomstick it once was. Why did they have to put a silencer on it?

I'm kind of on the fence on this one. On one hand, it's supposed to move in an entirely new direction with Halo, both gameplay and story wise. Plus, the firefight mode sounds like fun, even if it isn't exactly original. On the other hand, the gameplay videos I've seen make it look pretty much look exactly like Halo 3 with some HUD changes. I thought we weren't supposed to be super powerful anymore, why is the character still charging the bad guys with no cover?

Anyway, it looks good, but I'll wait for the reviews before buying.

I'm going to rent it at least.
I've missed Captain Tightpants too much to pass up a chance to hear his voice.

The campaign looks more interesting than Halo 3's and the multiplayer looks fun too. Luckily I know someone who's definitely gonna be buying so I won't necessarily have to.

Well i like the firefight mode but i guess thats the main highlight of ODST and when you think about it all your paying for is just some new maps, firefight, and a new campaign

I assume you mean Nathan Fillion, aka The second coming?
He's easily the one portion of ODST that warrants my attention.

As for the OP, I'm with everyone else. A rental. I don't see myself shelling out 60 bones for this.

I preorder'd it, just for Seargent Johnson. And the gamestop advert is fantastic. It looks good, and considering that I love Halo, and play it a lot, I'll enjoy this game.

Persactally.
That's exactly what drew me in the most.
Screw your character talking!
I hope they used the audio files that would have gone to the Rookie to record Fillion.

A sequel to Halo 3 would be a huge undertaking they wanted to try making a game with a smaller, more focused team. And they'd also have to dream up entirely new enemies and scenarios now that the Covenant has been more or less defeated. Let them take their time I say, I'd rather have a game that's good than a game that's here now (both would be ideal though).

Personally, I'm not terribly excited to play more Halo, but I think it looks like an original take on the Halo gameplay structure and storyline.

I'm sure new fans and old will enjoy it just the same, but I'm feeling a bit of Halo fatigue with Halo Wars out last year, ODST out soon and the announcements of the anime and Reach.

I'm not trying to burst anyone's bubble, though. If you're a fan of Halo you've got a ton of probably awesome content to look forward to.

well its a good change and its understandable of Bungie to take time to tell the story of a group of ODST rather then trying to think of what will the Chief do next. at least this game will give Bungie time to think of something really good to put the Chief in

how bought giving us an option that says, I have a PS3.

O.T. ODST was originaly supposed to be a $20 DLC with no multiplayer, that means that the multiplayer will be worth $40, so no, i dont thinks its a good deal. It looks good sure, but im afraid that it wont have as much stuff packed into it as it should for a $60 game.

Or I could be wrong and bungie jusst packed it.

I am actually willing to pay $60 for it just so I can get the multiplayer disk so I can delete all the old maps from my hard drive. My 20 gig hard drive is running out of space Microsoft!
