Poll: Halo: Legends - Good Buy?

Seems like a bad place to start seeing as we all know he already hates the franchise with a passion.

Which is funny, because he recommends it as something to watch if you're at least curious about it.

Yes, that was surprising, though he did spend most of the time insulting the fan base which really just makes the review seem unreliable.

Have you interacted with the Halo fan base? It's really easy to poke at them and watch them go nuts.

I like to think there's two different types of Halo fans, actually. There's fans like myself who don't really care about multiplayer so much and are more interested in the single player mode, the story and the broader universe. Then there's the "frat boy" demographic who only cares about topping the multiplayer leaderboards, trash-talking and teabagging corpses.

I may be over-generalizing, but those seem to be the only two types I've run across.

It's worth it just for the one that looks like a moving watercolor. Seriously, it's freaking beautiful. Some of the others are really good too.

But why are you even asking this if you're a big fan of Halo? Especially on a site full of so many ignorant haters that only hate the game 'cause it's popular? If you're a big fan of Halo's story and fictional universe, you will love it. Simple as that. Go buy it.

I really enjoyed it, and still like it after about 3 viewings. It contains no essential information, and the stories for the most part are throw away, but it was entertaining.
Origins was interesting, and you see the Forerunners at their prime for what I think is the first time. Odd One Out is hilarious. The Duel is a pretty typical samurai story through an Elite filter with a really unique art style and goes into explaining the history of the Arbiter ranking within the Covenant. Homecoming, despite what seems to be the general consensus, was the only one I didn't like.
I'd say go for it, if you love the Halo universe you shouldn't be disappointed. Expect good not great, and it makes for a good two hours.

Going to have to flag this with a "bwhuh?" and move on, since I haven't played a Halo game's campaign. Certainly, when I make up a list of "video games with the best stories", Halo doesn't even register.

Forgive me for that, i sounded like a raging obsessive there. Allow me to rephrase. I disagree with movie Bob, becuase I find Halo's story as a whole to be a very good one, which is made more complex by the expanded universe offered by the books and games like ODST and Reach. I found i liked the story better than games like MW2 and a few other popular titles that are out.

Just wondering, what is your list of video games with the best stories?

Gotcha. It really is terrible, i haven't gotten around to playing those yet.... i should get on that as soon as my xbox is fixed
