Hey guys! Just a quick survey, note I'm not a google representative. Do you think when Halo Reach comes out, Google should put up a banner dedicated to Reach itself?

I do not think Google would do that, since it normally does things that involve something more positive than games...

But whatever...

No. God no. If they do it I will never use Google again. It's Reach, seriously why would they do that?

EDIT: Btw OP Welcome to the Escapist.

Nah, no real point.
It's a big game release but it doesn't really have the significance of a famous persons birthday, does it?

Well, it is Bungie's last Halo game, then 343 industries is going to take over. So i think it would be pretty neet if they did that.

No. No no no, a thousand times no. Now, I'm an incredible Halo fanboy, but even I can see this is a bad idea. I generally look to the Google banners to say "Oh hey, that's something I haven't seen or heard of before, oh boy!" This would not work for Reach. For anyone.

They did a pacman banner so in therory its possible
Pacman is Pacman. Pacman is gaming legend. It was for Pacman's 30TH aniversay. That's a big thing. Halo is nice, but no. They won't and shouldn't.

They'd never do it, and I can safely say that without having to delve into my own feelings about how average and generic Halo is.

Please say you didn't just compare Pacman to Halo.

Uhhhh, no.

Google banners are dedicated to rare occasions, and if Google put up a banner every time a big game came out than we would see one everyday.

Your avatar is awesome.
OT: I think they should, it would be a cool thing to do.

It would be neat, sure. But it would just seem a bit...odd, compared to the other banners.

Sure, but they didn't did a Halo 3 one, a MW2, a SC2 one, and Uncharted one, a MGS one, etc, etc, etc.
And no, I am not a fan of those games BTW (except SC2), but I doubt that Halo Reach has as much opportunity to get a banner like these other games.

I don't care. Whatever ad anyone puts up is annoying.

I don't believe you.
They have spies amongst our ranks.

OT: Google has a lot of interesting banners so that could be cool.

That was to celebrate the anniversary of one of the most influential games in history.

Reach is not going to be one of the most influential games in history. Maybe Halo will get a banner in 20 years, but as for now...

NO.

Someone doesn't like Halo.

OT: Meh. I don't pay attention to those, although I wouldn't disapprove if they did do it. I doubt they would anyway.

No, it would just be a right mess. Not only is it undeserving compared to some of the actually interesting things they put on the Google Banners, but then what next? A killzone 3 banner, Gears of war 3, the first kinect game that isn't a replication of a mundane activity? Plus, they didn't do one for Starcraft 2 and that had all of that immense anticipation from a huge, loyal fanbase.

Dude, I've got the Legendary Edition pre-ordered and even I know that it isn't nearly important enough to merit a Google banner. The only time I've ever seen Google do anything with games was Pac-Man a few months ago, and, y'know, that was freakin' Pac-Man, the most famous game of all time.
