While at work today I was thinking about how many of the most talented and well-known artists and musicians (and others) have been miserable for a great deal of their lives. I know that it's not a binary cusative thing, but the correlation poses an interesting question: If you had the choice to live a mundane life of happiness or a life of miserable brilliance, which would it be? Please explain why in the comments.

I already live miserable mundane life.. So I'd take a life of mundane happiness over continuing misery..

Lifetime of happiness. I don't know how to explain it. I don't need or expect much from life, just freedom to live it way I see fit.

I'm gonna go with Socrates and contemporary research and say that I'll enjoy my life in the end either way, because people tend to get happier as they age past their middle years, and I can look back at all of my accomplishments with pride.
