I claim technicalities that claymorez posted in a few of my threads before he became a mod!

Volunteers you say?

I think most of the full-time staff are too busy to post on here much in work hours, and when they get home I can't imagine they'd want to spend any more time on this site than they have to.

I never really checked, I mean, they could have, but I just might not of noticed.

Aren't they just users with administrative powers? I'm pretty sure I've seen somebody become a moderator, anyway. Labyrinth, I think..

Still, they represent the best of the community. I can understand why one would be chuffed if they took part in a discussion.

Don't think so.
I had MaxTheReaper post in my first thread though. I felt like that was sort of an achievement, even though I think there were more threads he'd posted in than hadn't.

Made me feel special, as the newbie I was.

I don't remember well, but I think I've gotten Labyrinth and Baby Tea's attention before.

Yeah, Baby Tea posted on my one about supportive parents and gave me some really good advice about something, so that was cool, but I think that's it.
Baby Tea is a mod?

I didnt know that :O

So have any of you here ever made a thread where a mod posted in it? I always thought it was cool that someone with a lot of power would show up on your thread to post their opinion on things.

The only mods that ever posted on my threads was John Funk and Susan Arendt and that made me feel special :p
Not to split hairs, but we're not mods. While staff members do often moderate the forums, we're not really mods, per se. Most of our mods are dedicated volunteers, who spend their free time keeping this place as full of happiness and kittens as possible.
Do you have the power to turn trolls into bloody banned chunks? If so, you count as a mod.

Nope, but of course, I've only made two poorly thought out threads.

I'd like it if one of them even quoted me.

But that'll never happen. :p

I smell an opportunity for thread whoring!

Yes! Our Antipodean Moddesse Labyrinth has posted some of her excellent Eldar miniatures in my miniature gallery thread, to be found here:

Feel free to visit the thread and comment :D

Wow. This thread is a bit brown around the nose, eh?

But yes, they've posted in my threads. A couple in fact. One was even on a review of mine, commending me for the great work.

But it's no more special than anyone else doing it, really.

No. Although I almost wrote a acerbic reply to Labyrinth on a thread debating... femininity and gaming? Something like that? Anyway, I did not agree with her point of view and was sorely tempted to say so.

I didn't, because I try to steer clear of conflict, and now I know she's a mod, I'm kinda happy...

I have yet to make a thread here, but I did get a response once in the DOW2 forums.

I made a thread listing many of the apparent flaws with the game and even suggested some solutions to their problems.

I got a "/obvious rant is obvious" message and the thread was locked xD

Ah, still its kinda cool a staff member or someone who works for the escapist is part of the community.

Wouldnt you agree?
Well, I think it's more cool that we have a community that we would want to be a part of.
As opposed to Sessler, who stays FAR away from the stupid that is their forums?

OT: I think I may have gotten a few responses on a 40k thread that pops up every so often. Actually, someone should be bumping it again here pretty soon.

I've only made 4 threads here and no mod or staff member has posted. I'm also not really one to make threads. I have this fear of getting flamed like I did my first 2 threads... yea.
On a side note I'm friends with one and was before he became a mod.

A mod posted on...my thread?

What is this "My" thread? I'm not sure I've ever heard of such a thing.
