Burger King went to shit I believe. I thought it was just a single occurrence but it's pretty much every single one in my town and 3 others out of town.

Other than that... not really. I'd say Taco Bell but that has been shit since it's creation. I'm sorry but I live in a heavily mexican influenced area. We don't talk about that pathetic excuse for mexican food.

And if you don't have a Whataburger near you then I feel sorry for you. God tier fast food

Somewhat. Wendy's food has more or less always been sub par so I rarely go there anymore. Burger King's food hasn't been as good since they changed up the way the cook some of their food, but it's still okay I guess. McDonalds and Chick-fil-a have been fairly constant over the years, though you can still get tired of both from time to time.

I actually hadn't had fast food for about 2 months recently, then I had a burger at McDonald's... it tasted like greasy cardboard. I still love McNuggets, though.

Your first mistake was eating at Mcdonalds. I've personally always found Mcdonalds to be absolutely disgusting. Everything is salty, the drinks watered down, the 'beef' burgers are insanely small and always lukewarm.

I've never eaten at a Wendy's seeing as I've never found one in London.

I've always found smaller chains or one of a kind eateries to be of a much higher quality.

It has to me a bit. Ever since I started eating healthier and losing weight that the very rare times I eat fast food it does taste worse.

The wider their menus get, the shoddier the overall quality seems to get. Tim Hortons (our mainstay coffee shop, for non-canadians) used to be good, but as they've broadened into some weird hybrid half-Subway, half-Starbucks esque menu, their product seems to have gotten worse and worse.

Most fast food that isn't hamburgers has always been pretty atrocious in my book (and even a lot of those aren't so hot), so I seldom touch the stuff. Are you telling me that you think fast food is actually tasting worse? That's a nasty thought.

I know what you mean about Taco Bell. What really gets me is that every time i go there its full of mexicans which initially makes no sense. Then it hit me. Taco Bell is where mexicans go when they are sick of mexican food.

Ironically my friend suffered from a change in ingredients that most people would take as a change for the better. She's lactose intolerant, can't have dairy products or at least not in huge quantities. She loves coffee, but doesn't like it without some kind of milk. Since places that aren't starbucks usually don't carry soy milk and the ones that do charge an arm and a leg for it, she usually just goes without.

One night we're walking back to campus and she's craving coffee something fierce. So we walk into the local mcdonalds and ask if they have any non-dairy coffee drinks aside from just straight up black coffee. The cashier informs us that one of the smoothie type drinks, I forget what it was called, uses nondairy creamer which made my friend very happy. From then on she always stopped by mcdonalds to buy a sweet non-dairy coffee treat at a fraction of what starbucks would have charged her for the same thing in soy.

One day we're ordering and she gets her usual and the cashier asks "Would you like whole or skim milk in that?"
Perplexed my friend asks if they changed the way the drinks were made. And the poor cashier, bless her heart, gives her this big grin and is all "Yeah it's so much better than the artificial stuff huh?"
I have never seen a person look as confused as that poor woman did when my friend let out a cry of anguish and put her head in her hands.

On a personal note I've noticed a drastic variation in quality from mcdonalds to mcdonalds so it could just be the ones by you have all taken on very poor management/kitchen staff. Like, the mcdonalds on my campus always has stale fries. It seems like no matter what time I go the fries are stale. But the one by my house is amazing.

I may hate most fast food, but from what I eat every once in a while, it's basically the same as ever. Some recipes may have changed, but the overall feel hasn't really improved or worsened. As others have said, maybe the taste difference just comes from age or knowledge about the trashcan going into your stomach. The change in taste could be a problem with the health-food fix, but I haven't noticed much difference in the fries and some of that is just propaganda bullshit. If your pay-grade has improved recently, it could be an effect where you desire higher quality stuff. If so, try out some of the pricier stuff (examples of burger joints: In-n-Out; Five Guys; Larkburger; Smashburger; etc) maybe you'll like one of those.

At gmaverick019 and Owyn_Merrilin:
Yea looks Like I got the wrong quote but it seems you both got my point, so yay for that.

I do agree that a lot of people get home made pizza wrong and usually it has to do with putting too much toppings on.
I always keep in mind that the original Italian style pizza's usually have only 3 or 4 ingredients.
It's always best to go simple with a pizza and have a strong theme or central taste.
For example I make a mean cheese chicken and apricot sauce pizza and that is all that goes on it. The sauce is home made and is spiced but I think you get the general idea I'm trying to convey.

I don't mean to brag but my mom used to work for a pretty good local pizza place and I learnt a lot about how to and how not to make a pizza, so I find fast food pizza places like pizza hut to be utter garbage :)

Good LORD Burger King. At one point I loved eating there, but at some point a decade or so ago they changed their fries into some airy tasteless crap (I think there was an advertising campaign about the change) and I haven't even been in a Burger King since.

I've only noticed a drop in quality with McDonalds. Mostly because it is almost guaranteed to make me feel sick. Which is a shame since it's the only 24-hr fast food place nearby. There's the Sal's, but it takes a while to get your food since it's all made from scratch, sigh.

A&W, on the hand, seems to have only gotten better since I was a child. They used to put a disgusting level of salt into their food, now it's actually a good amount. I love eating at A&W, too bad the nearest one is over a half hour walk away from me :/

.. I know where you live. :p

Mostly because only Winnipeggers know what Sal's is. And yes, I love it. Haven't been in months, though. Maybe I should go this week... am getting tired of Dal's burgers.

OT: I don't think there's been much change, but I've been getting my burgers from local places for a while now. And before that it was Five Guy's as they're new in the city... but then I learned how many calories are in their food compared to other places and stopped going. ... I miss it.

For me personally the general quality of the ingredients of Fast Food feel incrementally inferior over the past decade to the point that I find the vast majority of it outright unpalatable. This of course ignoring my veritably growing intolerance to possibly all artificial chemicals that are staples of fast food.
