You need a better poll. This announcement moved the Xbone out of the "shove it up your collective ass MS" territory to "I'll see how this plays out in the months after release" territory. Unless MS went all chaotic good, fixed everything, and cut the pompous assholes that abused and berated the consumers this is about the best they're gonna get outta me. Nope, still no proper apology to gamers and still no back down on the in ability to disconnect the Kinect
It's still a less powerful and more expensive system. Not to mention that it is freakin' huge and Kinect is still an issue. No purchase.
Nope. Didn't want it in the first place, since I refuse to pay for a feature I already pay for (The Fucking Internet). Plus, I don't think the transition back to Console from PC is as smooth as the transition to PC, so I'll stick with my very crappy PC for now.

People complained about them not showing games at their console reveal so at E3 they showed tons of games, People complained about the DRM and they got rid of it, And now people say they are still not happy with Microsoft ? I find this quite funny. I guess it shows even if you try to please us gamers we will still be dicks to you.
I actually haven't ever been less enthused about a console generation before. Admittedly I'm one of those infamous PC gamers, but I HAVE bought consoles in the past. I was literally first in line for a 360 in Australia, which promptly sat collecting dust in the lounge room, but still! Ok, to be fair the only console I actually got enough use out of to be monetarily worthwhile was the Dreamcast and even then only because I got it at a discount.
I'm not some arrogant prick, I really WANT to have a good gaming console. I just see absolutely nothing worth buying in the current or upcoming gen. Everything worthwhile is going to be ported to PC anyway, and I already have one of those with good enough specs to run everything. Give me something unique that appeals to me and I'll probably buy it. The only appealing possibility so far is the Ouya, purely out of the novelty of a console that isn't chained down by usage agreements and is openly moddable.

Tempted to make a poll thread on this topic myself, just to see the numbers. Because whilst the DRM certainly turned people off, I was actually hearing people list off the lower price tag as reason for getting the PS4.
I myself was always going to get the PS4 and I was worried they were going to put their foot in their mouth at E3, but I was pleasantly surprised by the price because I was expecting it to cost around $800 dollars here in Australia. I can make up 549 dollars easy in a month.

All the decision has done is make the console worth considering.
With all the anti-consumer restrictions on it, buying it wasn't even an option. It was either PS4, or no next gen console at all. Now that the Xbox 3 will behave as a console should, without shafting us, it is worth considering on its merits as a gaming console. The foremost question would now likely be one of price/Kinect/previous gamerscore/trophies/exclusives. In other words, we can now judge it based on things that matter.
The fact that Sony didn't go down a similar route ultimately forced their hand. The U-Turn illustrates that these restrictions were never crucial to the console's functionality, but rather a concious choice by MS to control what we can and cannot do with our consoles and games as well as forcefully take money from second hand sales (that isn't theirs or publishers to take).

Originally i intended to get a PS4 (new) and a Wii U (used) and not bother with the Xbone at all. Now i'll probably end up getting it at some point when some killer exclusive game makes me want it. But it will be used not new. In fact if Final Fantasy XV isnt a launch game i doubt i'll get a PS4 right away.

M$ can eat me. They're trying to salvage the spectacular mess they made, and even disregarding they did it for the moneyz rather than treating customers with common decency, all I can say is too little too late. I won't forget what they tried to do. They went too far, and they can just go and shove it.
