Nothing in the cards says they can't go back on this and do a complete 360 if their word is that subject to change. I hope everyone who now plans to buy this thing takes it with a grain of salt or a tabasco-covered saguaro cactus. I don't like their stances or what those stances could influence in other companies looking to get into the console market and what levels of abuse they'll think they can get away with before they hit Microsoft levels of evil.

I may possibly pick one up at some point, still far in the future.
Have to wait and see what kind of exclusives come out, and wether the console is going to be a sputtering crimson ringed mess. (I know the One will probably not have actual red rings when it malfunctions, it's just a metaphor)

I've gone from "won't buy one" to "unlikely to buy one." I'm nonplussed by consoles this gen, but I'm still more likely to buy the one without a mandatory Kinect. Not out of paranoia, but out of an inability to use it and a disinterest in pay a hundred bucks more for it.

I was originally going to get one until I saw the xbox one, then was not going to get one because of this crap, I may consider getting one now, but am also going to wait and see how this goes before making the decision. This was only one of the factors, the other is I HATE THE KINECT AND DO NOT WANT IT, and I want a removable hard drive. Sure I should be able to disable the Kinect, but I am going to see if they have optional ones like they did for cameras in phones to allow companies to use them. I am happy they are taking a step in the right direction, now if we can get them to take a few more it could resolve the problems and be a really good usable system.

Not really. Sure, it increased my odds of getting one, but I just don't plan on getting either upcoming console. With the exception of Killer Instinct, I just don't care about the XB1 exclusives. So far the only game I give a crap about that requires me to get one of the other consoles is Kingdom Hearts 3. Everything else I can either get on PC (Titanfall) or my WiiU (Watch_Dogs).

Well, now that there's no strings attached to it, honestly, yes.
Don't get me wrong, the initial XbOne pushed me into PC gaming after being a lifelong console gamer which means it's going to be a while before I get one, preferably when it gets relatively cheap after a few years.
That's if I get one at all. I've never played PC before and all my friends are telling me that once you go PC, you wonder why you ever played on console.
I don't know, let's see what happens.

Honestly? Yes. While my 360 is connected to the net whenever it's turned on, the only problem I would have really experienced with the XBone was the inability to share games. Aside from that, nothing would really have affected me. But because it was all forced on me, with no sense of choice whatsoever, I was never going to get a XBone. It's not that I challange online connectivity and whatever else PR bollocks Microsoft have ejaculated in the last few hours, but simply because the moment you take away the choice of what people are already doing, you instantly look like a controlling ****. And yes, Microsoft did this in the first place. And the moment I get a XBone and they turn around again and implament these restrictions, I'll take my XBone back and demand a refund. I'm not going to buy into what is blatantly an entertainment dictatorship.

Getting rid of the shared library has soured me a bit. I'll still get one eventually, I'm sure, but I might wait longer than I was planning to.

In the short almost certainly not, but I may eventually buy one once the exclusives library is good enough. There are still other problems I have with the Xbox 180, but those are just personally preferences, I don't view it as an offense to the gamer community anymore.

Its good to see they backed off from some of there bullshit but i still dont trust microsoft now. You just know there gonna try something similiar or they left out a really bad detail thats gonna make this so called "goodwill" be just another lie. So as of now im still just getting a ps4. (Already have a wii u lol, bought one about a week ago and like it sofar.)

Nope, not really. I'm still not liking the price, and unless they plan on making the kinect optional too, that (price cuts) probably won't happen anytime soon. Plus, I really don't like the fact that they wanted to do this in the first place and that's the kind of idea I personally don't want to support.

At least this whole debacle got them to make the change. But, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried bringing it back at some point.

The hardcore gamer won't forgive them easily, but I think the average casual gamer will. Most of them were only vaguely aware of what was happening, and now Microsoft has taken steps to fix these DRM issues. They will fair far better than they would have without the changes, and may even win the console war because of the casual gamers. They will try again, and soon. Is this short term victory and a long term defeat? Only time will tell.

Nope. Still don't want it.

There still really isn't anything exclusive to the system that interests me, and considering how far Microsoft have fallen even excluding the XBone doesn't make me very trusting of them. Plus, Sony just seems to know what they're doing right now and have a lot more interesting things to offer. I mean, at least when they revealed the PS4 they demonstrated that the thing was supposed to be a gaming system first, other crap later. No "TV! TV! Sports! TV! DOGS!" nonsense like Microsoft.

The only reason I wasn't going to get one was solidarity over my friends having shit connections, so now that this is gone I fully plan on getting one... though I am still waiting on a price drop or some kind of sale. Honestly, I couldn't care less about Microsoft's original intentions, all I care about is what they deliver.

Yeah, it has, insamuch as I wasn't going to buy one at all, period and I am now planning on getting one somewhere down the line. The console still has it's fair share of problems, but none of the problems are dealbreakers anymore. Still won't get it at launch, but I do plan on getting one eventually.

I didn't intend to get one at all, really. At the bare minimum, Sony gives more value. Xbox wasn't really an option to begin with. But theoretically if the DRM had changed my mind, it wouldn't be changing back now because they put that shit in there knowing the inconvenience it was going to cause. It's like trusting someone who pulled a knife on you because they put it away again.

MS has shown nothing but utter contempt for their customer base.

Called us "backward" for asking for BC.

Told us to "DealWithIt".

The hell with them.

While I'm still gonna wait until the thing drops, I will say this much:

But that's about it. Just one fuck.

It's ruined. The best aspect of the Xbox One, and the main reason I was interested in it, was because of the digitally based game system instead of the archaic disc based system. I now have limited interest in either console.
