If you're there every day, or you just pop in once a month or so, I'm wondering how many people here actually contribute to it as a reliable source of information. If you've vandalized it, don't be shy (but shame on you).

I myself am an administrator, but I've been slouching a bit in the last while due to school exams and life.

Oh, and it doesn't have to be the English one.

I correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting mistakes quite often.

Once, I think, to vandalize some page. Yeah, in high school I was a real rebel. But man, no one will look at them the same way again - those cunning linguists.

No.

But I've edited the TV Tropes Wiki.

Is that about the same?

I've never edited Wikipedia, but a friend of mine edited the page on Copper and for one month it surely informed thousands of viewers that someone by the name of Proffessor Egadd (my alias) had "discovered" copper.

twice, the first was for some random reason, the second I just deleted stuff because I was bored.

I've edited a few of the prehistoric creatures to add pronunciations. And edited my home town's once.

I do, but only when something I know is wrong is posted up there.

Interesting fact: My school IP has been permanently banned from Wikipedia.

That might be the second-worst nickname I've ever heard.

More interesting fact, for a total of one week my old school thought it smart to completely block access to wikipedia as the content is "inaccurate" and people waste time on it. I think the academic output of the school halved in that week.

I rarely edit wikipedia, only to correct mistakes, grammar and factual.

What's the first?
I've suppressed most of my high school memories. And my middle school ones.
Is it possible to suppress current memories? Because that's what I've been trying to do.

It seems we have something in common, then. I deliberately inserted some spelling errors into some obscure wiki page, and after I told a few friends about what Wikipedia was (it was pretty new back then) they immediately went mad with vandalizing frenzies of activity. Needless to say I didn't talk to them for a while.

Vandalised on numerous occaisions :)
Least subtle vandalism: changing the article on football to 'lets have an orgy'
most subtle vandalism: changing a slight piece of phrasing on the page about the school I went to from something along the lines of "we encourage our students to perform their own independent thinking and present a friendly atmosphere" to "we encourage our students to perform no independent thinking and present a friendly atmosphere to the parents"

Thing is, I love Wikipedia. I had all of EN, just the text and formatting, loaded on my jailbroken iPod Touch. Took up two and a half gigabytes. The sum of all human knowledge compressed into two and a half gigabytes of text. Irony aside, not a bad thing to have on your person at all times.

It was like my personal Hichhiker's guide.

Only two and a half gigabytes? I'm surprised
