When I was younger and my voice hadn't deepened yet, sometimes I'd answer the phone and someone would be looking for my mom. If she wasn't there they'd say, "Ok, thank you ma'am."

I used to have a bit of a feminine face and I haven't cut my hair since I was 4, so it has happened MANY times.

The most awkward was walking into the Men's Room. Got some very creepy looks.

When I was around 11-12, I had short hair and dressed in boy's clothes. I went through a major tomboy phase because I had spent my whole life never being allowed to get my hair cut (I am the only blonde child, so my hair was some kinda sacred thing...or something).

Being young, it was easy to be mistaken for a boy and I often had girls ask me to dance at those silly community dances held in my city (as well as my sister's friends asking me if I was her brother, or saying "your brother is cute"). I was getting more pussy back then than I ever have as an adult. Such a shame.

I've had several phone-based jobs and I've often been called "Ma'am" just from the sound of my voice because if I used my regular voice over the phone it'd be too low to hear properly.

Being male and choosing to grow my hair long I get called a girl by a few people...

Its annoying...

I was at the zoo with a friend the other pointing this out when a guy behind me said Ma'am before realizing I was a dude..I was cool with it tho...didnt think I would get a good example while out and about... -_-

With alarming frequency, but only when I was young. I had a somewhat androgynous appearance as a child and grew my hair out as soon as my parents let me decide for myself how I wanted to look (mainly because I hated having my hair cut, to be honest). However, once puberty hit, I developed shoulders so absurdly wide I couldn't possibly pass for a woman now.

Oddly, yes.

I've been mistaken for a man on a few occasions - despite having hair that reached my waist at the time. Of course, I guess I don't exactly carry myself as a lady... or dress like one... so all is forgiven. I suppose it may be easy to mistake me for a long-haired guy...

Or it used to be, at least. Maybe if my hair was a bit shorter it'd still happen, but I suppose most people figure guys just don't have hair that reaches their knees.

It was drag thursday, and me having a feminine body... I was confusing the boys all day that day. I got a really good blonde wig, some extremely tight jeans that I had to sag, and a tight t-shirt with something whore-ish on the front... only until I actually spoke or took off the wig did anyone realize I wasn't a woman.
Haha What kind of school do you go to?
A Good old Northern California High School.

I have hair that goes half way down my back. Now while I am balding, I have to wear a hat at work, so I've been approached a number of times from behind with the person saying, Excuse me miss. Also online I've been mistaken for female because I have one of those names that could go either way.

Only on the phone, before my voice changed. I'm 6'4", weigh some 240 pounds, and gleefully spout misogyny at every opportunity. (Yes, I'm a MALE, for the slow students.)

I do have a vaguely related anecdote in which I was helping an injured female friend walk around and a passing chick gave us a REALLY evil glare, and my friend suggested that the Gorgon wannabe may have mistaken her for a guy and thought we were two dudes just hugging our way down the hall. I had a good laugh.

Captcha: entFrent further. I don't know what that means, but it sounds compelling.

I have long blonde hair. Being mistaken for a girl is the story of my life, in fact one smug 7 year old one time decided to ask me if I was a boy or a girl.

Over the internet, many times. My usual screen name is "Lesbian Pony Armageddon" so it's no real surprise. I don't even correct people these days xD

A man once said "excuse me young lady" to me in a store, but I dont blame him. The man looked like he was senile.

Twice yesterday, and many other times before that. It's always by other men as well. They see the long hair, and automatically assume I must be a woman. One of yesterdays was from the front as well, although the guy was a bit thick, so that may explain it.
