Hah, that's hilarious. It's so pointless to steal someones un-paid shopping, but so funny.

Never happened to me, I have accidently put my item/s in someone else's trolley, but quickly realised.

The grocery cart theft is known to me as several times I'll be eyeing carts that don't have any items in them or that are left unattended and as long as it's not under guard I'll take it because there's never any at the racks at the WalMart I go to.

I've almost accidentally put stuff in someone else's cart, but always noticed before things got weird. Never had mine stolen though, but I doubt people do it with some sort of malicious intent - they probably just zone out like I do, see a cart that looks like theirs with similar stuff in, and take it by mistake, noticing a while later and feeling really stupid.

No. Who the hell would steal a shopping cart though? I mean you have to pay for everything that's in there if you want to leave. It's just pointless.

Who the hell sees an abandoned shopping cart and think "Wow! Jackpot!". I would be really interested in seeing the internal dialogue going on there.
