well thats your opinion and btw it only takes 1 day to hit max level. so much for grinding it simply used the leveling system as a reason to keep playing. and they hiked up the price because they realised it was a goldmine perhaps? thats not just because thats just a good buisness sense. if you see something you have selling that people want in high demand you hike up the price thats how it works... thats how you make money. thats boycotting someone for being a prosperious companyCrazzee said:Activision decided to hike up the price just because.Chrissyluky said:what...? im confused when did the game that sold over 13m copies become so hated? and where did this hate ignite from???stabnex said:No because I boycott any game that causes a $40 rise for all new games for the sake of greed.
Anyway, no. The first Modern Warfare was terrible, generic, and not even mildly entertaining. The campaign was average at best, and the multiplayer that was held in such high regard is a horrible grind-fest. I refuse to pay for more of the same.

Yes because making money is the only admirable desire in this world. That's exactly why medication costs in the US have doubled in the last 10 years. They realized that people will come to them regardless and started stripping people of even more money.Chrissyluky said:well thats your opinion and btw it only takes 1 day to hit max level. so much for grinding it simply used the leveling system as a reason to keep playing. and they hiked up the price because they realised it was a goldmine perhaps? thats not just because thats just a good buisness sense. if you see something you have selling that people want in high demand you hike up the price thats how it works... thats how you make money.Crazzee said:Activision decided to hike up the price just because.Chrissyluky said:what...? im confused when did the game that sold over 13m copies become so hated? and where did this hate ignite from???stabnex said:No because I boycott any game that causes a $40 rise for all new games for the sake of greed.

Or you could do the sure thing and release it for the average price, and sell more copies. Hiking up the price might make them more money at once, but less people are going to buy copies. I think it would be better for the company to sell ~6 million copies at 50-60 bucks a pop than it would be for them to sell ~2 million copies at $90. Assuming those numbers are correct:Chrissyluky said:well thats your opinion and btw it only takes 1 day to hit max level. so much for grinding it simply used the leveling system as a reason to keep playing. and they hiked up the price because they realised it was a goldmine perhaps? thats not just because thats just a good buisness sense. if you see something you have selling that people want in high demand you hike up the price thats how it works... thats how you make money. thats boycotting someone for being a prosperious companyCrazzee said:Activision decided to hike up the price just because.Chrissyluky said:what...? im confused when did the game that sold over 13m copies become so hated? and where did this hate ignite from???stabnex said:No because I boycott any game that causes a $40 rise for all new games for the sake of greed.

Well then I'll have to wait for a very long time, no matter.Chrissyluky said:um good luck. the original cod 4 still sells for 50 dollars.bodyklok said:No, I'm going to wait for the price to go down before I buy it.
I will buy it, just not right now.Chrissyluky said:and why wont you buy it? its going to be a very very good game unlike world at war(which was done by treyarch who likes to ruin the series every other year for stock purposes).
The price? Don't get me wrong, I can afford to pay for it, I just refuse to.Chrissyluky said:i dont know why any fps fan wouldnt pick it up really.
I haven't gotten to any level, nor have I tried any of the game modes. For some retarded reason my modem won't connect to my PS3 (the only console I own COD4 for) and I can't go online.Chrissyluky said:and by some of the responses im getting its starting to make me wonder if any of you have even gotten to max level >.> let alone tried different game modes besides the uber mindless team deathmatch. and what is so bad about the modern warfare fanbase...? why the hate people? i really would like a genuine reason ive only seen one that made sense so far...
Mehh, it really doesn't matter to me that much, MW2 will be a great game but that doesn't mean I absolutely have to buy it.joe182 said:Good luck with that.. you'll be waiting a while.bodyklok said:No, I'm going to wait for the price to go down before I buy it.
Alright, here's someone that's obviously trying to hate Call of Duty 4. Just because it's cool to hate popular things doesn't make CoD4 a bad game.Crazzee said:Activision decided to hike up the price just because.Chrissyluky said:what...? im confused when did the game that sold over 13m copies become so hated? and where did this hate ignite from???stabnex said:No because I boycott any game that causes a $40 rise for all new games for the sake of greed.

I think regional codes would make that a little difficult to do.Chrissyluky said:seems the uk got ripped offstabnex said:Read this thread [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.126628] and find out. The formula they used is tried and true. I don't hate it because it's popular, I hate it because it isn't fun, and it didn't interest me. You have no right to say that my opinion is null and void because they had a few new features. Sure, shooting through walls is nice, but that doesn't make it any less of a copy-paste shooter that is mostly about hyperpatriotic American soldiers running around with an ego the size of the whole damned country. The SAS parts were rather interesting, but the whole "enemy spawnpoints are here, the enemies will stop spawning when you pass this place" thing really ruined a lot of firefights. I would have preferred shooting one at a time, and slipping through the shadows, killing them off one at a time, then moving on to the next objective. That seems more like something the SAS would do anyway.Whistler777 said:Alright, here's someone that's obviously trying to hate Call of Duty 4. The campaign was generic? I don't seem to see multiple changes in environment and high-action modern warfare generic. Add to that the fact that you can shoot through walls (a feature every FPS game should have) and a story that's heaps better than most FPS (that's not saying much), and you have absolutely no right to call the game generic.
The multiplayer can't really be called a grindfest, as there's more than just Deathmatch mode. Customizable classes, perks, and incentive to unlock new weapons through leveling up make it about the freshest multiplayer experience since Perfect Dark.
If you don't like FPS games, just say so.![]()
Here Here. I couldn't stand the muliplayer on Modern Warfare.Psychosocial said:What? Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 2? Lulz.
I wouldn't get the game even if it was free. People keep bashing Halo for it's fanbase, but fuck me, the Call of Duty, especially Modern Warfare fanbase is by FAR worse.
I also don't really see what's so good about the games, I always found games like Battlefield to be far better FPS.
