I don't want this spiralling horribly into a foul-mouthed whirpool of insanity, but rather simply to discover whether or not I'm the only person who finds those words in the title inoffensive or extreme. It seems to be a thing with Yanks, but over there hell and damn are supposedly harsh terms. I've always considered them to be as weak as you get before you start saying fudge and sugar, but whenever I listen to Simpsons DVD commentaries (I'm sad, but it gets more out of the purchase) the folks always say they have a tough time getting the words in. I suppose they probably *had* a tough time, because it was the nineties, but whatever. The Simpsons themselves always seem to frown upon the word, and I always remember Bart saying that he learned and about hell in sunday school. Marge reprimanded him, but he pointed out that he couldn't say what he had learned about without using the word. He then said it about twenty times, which got him in more serious trouble. Is it satirical, or what? I'm ver confused.

Summary is thus: are hell and damn considered strong language in this day and age? Shadow the Hedgehog was apparently censored and redubbed after parents complained of the intensity of the words, so it was a fairly recent thing, anyway. I'm rambling now, but any words of wisdom -especially American words- would be of assisstance.

As a side note, I actually think the concept of 'naughty' words madness. Why should one jungle of vowels be unacceptable? I personally think that the stereotype of boring old ninnies with nothing better to do are the ones complaining about these things, just like whoever found the Resi 5 trailer shocking, although that pointless 'issue' has been tread endlessly, so let's avoid that. But seriously, they're zombies!
