EDIT: I tried to add some new names to the poll, but it's not working. The names are:

MagnificentMediocrity

DiscoViking

Fowl Necromancer

Oponn's Push

Knight of Chains

Grenade Catfish (This is one I got from putting my real name into a Metal Gear Solid name generator a couple years ago. It's stupid, but I might as well put it in for fun until I can think of something else)

As much as love my current username, I fear that I'm in need of an alternative. Since the quote my name is derived from is so popular, I often find that it, and most derivatives, are already taken. I need something to fall back on when that happens. So, please cast your vote in the poll, and leave any suggestions of your own, if you'd like.

EDIT: Special mention goes to Daystar Clarion, for posting what might be the most ludicrously awesome name I've ever heard.

Possibly the greatest name after Daystar Clarion.
You know I just googled your username and came up with this wiki page about a sword. I would've never guessed.

OP - please please please use 'Cypher Raige'.

Damn, that is good. Most name filters probably wouldn't allow it, but it deserves an honorable mention.

Not just any sword.

A fire sword.

That's like, 5 times the sword.

Those all suck.

If I'm not using Mossberg, my username is usually "Steak QuesaKilla". But you can use it, just this once.

I've sadly had the misfortune to read the book where it actually originates from...

OT: All the usernames I use are taken from characters or people I like. So, uh, none of these particularly resonate well with me. DiscoViking is a little too corny for my tastes, though, and FowlNecromancer is a pun...so, uh, MagnificentMediocrity it is!

Usernames are tough decisions sometimes. Sit on it for a day or two and see if one (or more) you like comes to you.

I checked three different different search engines and they all took me back to this thread with no other hits. Lousy Internet...

In the absence of any better alternatives, I'm going to cast my vote for this.

Comes from a book called Rhapsody [http://www.amazon.com/Rhapsody-Child-Blood-Elizabeth-Haydon/dp/0812570812]. But I am not a fan - I wouldn't suggest actually reading it. *shudder*

MagnificentMediocrity as suggested isn't bad. It's a bit long winded but has the whole alliteration thing going on which makes up for it. Saying that, I wouldn't want to be forever associated with mediocrity, magnificent or otherwise.

Anyway, what's up with the specific "Adjective Noun" format you seem taken by? Think outside the box and maybe you'll be happy with something you didn't think of before. If you must stick to this format, how about:

- Sagacious Sorcerer (A nod to Jade Empire there :))
- Conniving Cleric
- Malodorous Monkey
- Wiley Warlock
- Vivacious Villain

I got stuck on the alliteration thing, sorry.

Slab Bulkhead?

Honestly I'd have gone with the Jolly Co-operator. So no help from me I'm afraid.

I really like this suggestion. :')

Failing that.. OP, I quite like 'Fowl Necromancer' but it feels like the type of username where you'd have to stick to gimmicky avatars all the time.

I'm in favour of "DiscoViking" mainly because it's the shortest names out of the lots and the name itself sound funny!

Yeah, 15 year old me thought the books were awesome.

Not so much now :D

Still like the name though.

That naming format actually wasn't intentional. I'll try getting away from that.

And thanks for the suggestions. I especially like Conniving Cleric.

Huh. I guess we were in very different avenues of life at that time, 'cause I read it when I was 13 or 14...recommended to me by my aunt *and* uncle as an absolutely amazing book. I've considered them to be basically sub-human since. :p
